Blockhead & Poldoore team up for a unique two track collaboration titled "Welcome Mat / The End Is Nigh". With an interesting approach to two producers teaming up, the two tracks were created by Blockhead organizing a sample pack that Poldoore then used to create the songs.

Blockhead is coming off of a strong 2021, releasing his latest album "Space Werewolves Will Be The End Of Us All" which received repeat coverage from BBC, KEXP and KCRW, as well as releasing a full-length album with Aesop Rock on Rhymesayers. Poldoore's new album "Soft Focus" was also recently released via his own imprint.

"Welcome Mat / The End Is Nigh" will serve as a unique follow-up to the two producers' solo releases and drops with a limited vinyl edition via Future Archive Recordings on April 1, 2022.

'Sloh' is il:lo’s fourth EP. Keeping in tune with their previous EP, their sound is a meeting of acoustic and synthetic instruments. Thereby mallets and brass converse with moogs and Junos. In 'Sloh', the production is designed as more electronic but still organic.

The symbiosis between heavy basses notes and atmospheric pads reminds the one between the body and the soul. The building heading into the sky of the cover illustrates this idea. In songs such as 'Niyati' the deep bass fixes the feet to the ground while the heady melody rises the soul.

'Sloh' is a new road on which il:lo wants to invite the listener. A journey to feel new emotions. Some parts of this road are peaceful ('Alma') while others have to be climbed to reach the top and discover new places ('a.me', 'Sloh') and let go. At the end of the journey the listener is invited to walk alongside the Austrian river of 'Ybbs', and to conclude the trip with a last (progressive) ascent ('Cami').

Future Archive Recordings is excited to bring this long anticipated follow up to 2015’s Tiny Pause. Having just returned home after a successful European tour with fellow Future Archive Recordings’ artists Blockhead and Arms and Sleepers, Joe Corrales Jr – aka Yppah – is straight back to it with the brand-new single Shot Into The Sun and the announcement of a brand new album Sunset in the Deep End. Yppah’s ever growing penchant for fusing alternative, shoegaze and indie guitar textures to crisp hip-hop beats has seen his work used in high profile TV syncs such as CSI and House as well as video games such as Alone In The Dark.

Shot Into The Sun is another example of this, utilizing shimmering dream pop guitar lines a-la The XX or Interpol with the dub-roll rhythms of classic 90s groups like Massive Attack and Portishead. It is perfect cinematic territory, with emotive bass-pad providing deep, far stretching beds for all the delay and reverb on those high frequencies to carry you away into a dream.

Recording so many instruments live and on his own, Yppah manages to connect with his listeners more than his peers; there’s a real sense of conversation; he’s in the room with you, not detached, like so many sample-based producers. This is organic, deep and personal late-night music from a master of the craft.

This is a vital point in Yppah’s career and narrative. Making the move from Ninja Tune and Counter Records to the new imprint Future Archive Recordings comes at a pivotal point in his private life. With relationships ending and new beginnings abound, he took four years with over 60 sketches and demos before picking the final ten cuts that would form the new album – a signifier that Yppah’s path is wide open and possibilities are all around him. A new creative energy seems to have infected the record, connecting to the world of Future Archive Recordings and the tight-knit artist community they have fostered. With other key Ninja Tune alumni Blockhead – as well as the label-founding members Arms and Sleepers, Sun Glitters, Little People, and CNJR – Yppah now has a stable to let loose from once again. With North American and European tours in support of the new record, 2020 is set to be his biggest year yet.

The group combines influences ranging from R&B, Pop, Hip-Hop, to Indie Rock, while also playing with languages—English and Spanish—resulting in a truly unique sonic signature.

Following up on their debut single ‘Carpets’ (released in October 2020 on Future Archive Recordings), the Italian electronic music duo PALLADIAN emerge with ‘Fur’, a two-track single also featuring an alternate edit by the downtempo producer Edamame (Loci Records, Abandon Buildings). 

Based in Barcelona, Spain, the duo draws from downtempo and contemporary electronic influences, and traditional electronic production techniques, offering an exciting and fresh cross-genre aesthetic. With both members having a background in architecture, PALLADIAN tends to create their songs as if they were buildings. From this approach you can expect a solid rhythmic structure decorated with lots of colorful details; this analogy is the real foundation of the project. 

‘Fur’ is a strong future house / contemporary electronic composition, bridging the sound of influences like Caribou, Bonobo, and Tycho, while staying true to the unique sound that is definitively PALLADIAN.
