Berlin's Micropacer makes his return to Exploited Club - following releases on Kendal's Ritmo Fatale, Johannes Albert's Frank Music and Cormac's Polari with 3 slices of pure, unadulterated joy. 

'Splash' kicks off, oozing with sass as an irresistible Italo bass struts along with a square edged heel. Rousing strings swell as a giddy tension bubbles towards a hairs-on-the-neck breakdown that pops to rapturous effect. Synths sparkle, while chopped vocals adorn the melody. All the while that bass maintains its swagger until the end. 

'Foreign Affairs' follows up with more early 80s flair. Here, a fervid piano riff takes the limelight as it shifts through heartstring chords, rubbing sweaty shoulders with stabs and a vocoder. Filters dip the piano as it sinks towards another jubilant drop. 

'Schöne Zeit' closes things up with more bright, spicy drums. The Disco kit kicks in all the right places, propelling another gorgeous tapestry of sound built from swirling tones and sunbeam stabs. Another breakdown unfolds with pure peak-time energy, giving way to flurry of serotonin rounding off a pack of reliable, retro bangers aimed directly under the disco ball.

When We Dip's Tales of Romance imprint is proud to present its first EP of the year, ‘Meet my Tempo' by Zoi. The outing is centred around groove and harmonic touch. Manu, Gullen and Madmotormiquel each give their take of the A-side.

Zoi, who has released with Kindisch, Traum and Dirtybird, originally hail from Pakistan and is an integral part of Toronto's scene as a programmer of club Subdivision.

The A-side, ‘Meet my Tempo' is a vibey affair marked by old-school house drums, an uplifting pad and diverse ear candies.

Inner Solstice showcases the same atmospheric feel, as the ever-evolving percussions and hats link the raw sub-bass, joyful pad and sparse lead melody.

Montréal's Manu delivers a throbbing remix which draws inspiration from his regular appearances in the city's institutions such as Stéréobar and Le Salon Daomé. The glitchy break gives a breather before leaving the colourful sub lead the ‘I just want to groove' ad-lib.

Gullen's remix of Meet my Tempo revolves around an inspiring rolling bass progression, stabs and a sharp clap. A tasteful offering from the Barcelona producer fresh off his second EP with Mobilee.

Madmotormiquel's remix rounds up the pack. Bouncy percussions, short stabs and drum rolls hit against the bassline and punchy kick.

New on Poker Flat, a four track release entitled New Moon, via the Bulgarian born Selderv (now living in Denmark), and several collaborators across the EP.    

The openining track Igray is a powerful tool for the dancefloor - slick programming and oceans of atmosphere make this a stand out track on an EP full of moments. 

Label boss Steve Bug takes a swing at it with his remix, and delivers yet another masterclass in remixing - accentuating elements from the original to create a new vibe. 

New Moon is a co-production with Yasen (Yasen Nedelchev, also from Bulgaria) and showcases a burgeoning partnership - the track is fully primed for maximum dancefloor euphoria.  

The remix comes from Kadosh  - the underground Tel Aviv native with a string of high profile releases and shows - who sprinkles his own magic on New moon to create a perfect counterpoint to the original.

With Balance presents Dave Seaman & Quivver, both artists have reached out far and wide to their producer friends to pull off a real coup. Quivver explains: "With DJ Mixes two a penny these days online, we really wanted to create something special that would stand out from the crowd and stand the test of time. Presenting their second release of the year, REFRACTION RECORDS welcomes Chiari to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Brazil, Chiari first emerged in 2019 on the strength of releases for The Purr and Magician on Duty. With a deep, organic and groovy sound, the Balneário Camboriu resident was quickly tipped as a new artist to watch going forward. The next three calendar years would see Chiari choose his projects wisely, adding Hoomidaas, Seven Villas and Where The Heart Is to his discography, while refining his repertoire with further depth, colour and detail. A remix of Pedro Capelossi's 'Horimono' via Loot Recordings ended 2023 on a high note, ultimately leading to his first release of 2024, and subsequent Refraction debut 'Plans & Plants', alongside remixes from Retza and Luis León.
