Agnosia Black opens the new year with a much-anticipated single from label boss DJ Choopie and Golan Zocher. The former, based in Israel lays claim to over two decades of production work and releases via long standing imprints such as Bedrock and Yoshitoshi. Meanwhile, Colombian born, Israel based artist Golan Zocher has enjoyed similar success across his five-year career, landing releases via Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Beatfreak and Clubsonica Records. Having worked together previously on a well-received offering for Sol Selectas, Choopie and Golan partner up once again for 'Fine Twist', alongside a remix from Dmitry Molosh.

Although primarily known for their progressive minded productions, Golan and Choopie lean closer to Indie Dance territory on 'Fine Twist'. Its pulsating groove and buoyant beats are full of contour and character, while tranquil arps and sweeping effects build tension as the narrative takes shape. 80's inspired percussion comes in waves, expertly layered as the main melodic theme flows through emotive chord changes, building momentum towards the break. Sitting at the heart of the journey, the melodic interlude provides a unique contrast of meditative qualities and emotional overtones, gently elevating mood as flurries of drums reach a triumphant apex, summoning the groove for a driving finale.

Making his label debut and providing the lone interpretation of 'Fine Twist' is Dmitry Molosh. Coming off his most prolific year to date, the Belarus based artist dominated the Beatport Progressive House charts, racking up thirty discography credits across the twelve months, while seeing continued support from genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. With a resume that includes releases via Replug and Sudbeat Music, Dmitry now adds Agnosia Black to his portfolio with a powerful rendition of 'Fine Twist'. Staying true to the positive vibe of the original, Dmitry puts a progressive lean on the track which lands with resounding success. Flickering arps and clattering percussion blanket a warm, key changing groove, as wispy effects and pulsating rhythms add drive and colour. Spanning over two minutes in length, the main break highlights the piece with hopeful melodies elevating mood, before an underbelly of nostalgic arps provides a smooth bridge into a buzzing drop and suitable poignant finale. Concise in execution and timeless in delivery, it rounds out another stellar collaboration for Golan and Choopie, making for a must have release to begin the year for Agnosia Black. Highly recommended.

Ewan's first releases date back to 2011 whilst Manual Music launched in 2005. All these years of combined experience have led to what you've got in front of you right now: the 'Empathy Revolution EP'. The perfect example that music is constantly evolving, as Ewan has incorporated his trademark progressive groove with phat gritty synths, giving each song a bit of a melodic edge. The arrangements do feel quite analogue and "techno" without loosing themselves in straight forward boringness. Dutch production & DJ outfit Around Us is set to release its much-anticipated debut studio LP entitled ‘Reaching Home’. The new record will be available to stream and purchase across all major digital platforms via Paul Hazendonk’s Manual Music imprint on February 10th, 2023.

Following releases on Click Records, Clubsonica, Freegrant Music, and Manual Music’s progressive-minded MNL division, Around Us now unleashes a staggering eighteen-track storyteller that showcases the duo’s seductive and free-flowing sound.

Leading up to its release, Around Us has been sharing a string of EPs and singles (including ‘Until Fall’, ‘Homecoming’, and ‘Undiscovered Times’) with music featured on the ‘Reaching Home’ LP. The rest of the album is comprised of unreleased cuts, completing the duo’s sonic narrative.

Madloch’s Sound Avenue imprint opens the month of March by showcasing new interpretations of Jean Caillou’s ‘Simplon’. Released in March of last year, the five-track showcase was not only a prime example of the Swiss artist’s creative attitude but a highlight in the label’s catalog. Supported by deep and organic DJs alike, Sound Avenue now looks to bring new life to the project by inviting HAEN, St.Ego, Jayden Klight, Evernaya and Umannto to re-imagine it for 2023’s spring season.

Rounding out the release and also making his label debut is Umannto who provides the lone interpretation of ‘Simplon’. For German artist Umannto it was a childhood love for hip-hop culture which led the Stuttgart resident to begin his journey into electronic music production. What began as creating hip-hop, rap, drum & bass and dubstep would eventually lead to producing organic house. Born out of a love for old folk music from the Orient, Balkans and other parts of the world, it was this sound which would see him make his debut in 2021 via Cafe De Anatolia. 2022 would then see Umannto gain further recognition within the genre’s trendsetting confines through releases via Sound Avenue affiliate 3rd Avenue and Swedish imprint House Music With Love. Now, adding Sound Avenue to his resume, Umannto caps off the release in style with an emotive rendition of ‘Simplon’.
