This two and a half hour ride was recorded live at our Belisa night at Club der Visionaere, when we took over for a memorable day and night party, to celebrate our dear Kosta’s 30 birthday in may last year ☀️

Tim took us on a journey through his wide-ranging collection and showed us the heart of a true digger, as well as his dope mixing skills, which kept us going nuts from beginning to the end!

pieces 002 - Ivan Smagghe - Live from Houghton 2024

Following Futureboogie’s triumphant start to 2015 with releases by Lonely Boy and PBR Streetgang & X-Press 2, their next installment comes courtesy of Ian Blevins and Al Gobi. 

Ian Blevins is best known as one of Ibiza’s most respected resident DJs, holding down regular slots for the island’s heavyweights such as We Love… and Carl Cox’s Future Disco. Following his previous release on Keep It Zen Records, Blevins makes his Futureboogie debut with four killer cuts both as a solo artist and with Phil Moody as ‘Al Gobi’. 

‘Flapjack’ opens the record with a finely crafted of synth lead, which slowly develops to become the melodic focal point of the track. The catchy bassline provides the solid backbone needed for the songs other melodic elements to flourish, with deep chords and stabs setting the tone and influencing the tracks melancholic feel. 

‘Tribu 2’ sees more of Blevins’ signature synth work, with the crunchy lead taking center stage in the mix down and driving the track forward. With more dancefloor dancefloor urgency than ‘Flapjack’, the string stabs build the tension during the breakdown, before returning to the infectious lead melody of Blevins’ synth work.

‘Cold Spring’ is the result of Blevins’ collaboration with Phil Moody, and takes the release in a slightly different sonic direction. Again, utilising melodic synths, and with the addition of an arpeggiator swirling in and out of focus, this piece is complimented by single note string loops and off-beat, dubbed-out claps, creating a dream-like sound, yet, still suited to the dancefloor. 

The use of melody is again apparent on ‘35K’ with retro chords and leads synths, complimented by classic drum machine snare rolls and hi hats, all contributing to the tracks vintage feel and a nod to a by-gone era.

Our first podcast of 2025, and who better to kick things off than enigmatic French duo International Mac & Tau Car. As one third of the 192gmbh crew, Mac has been spinning dancefloors on heads for years with his endless supply of shapeshifting, bargain bin goodness. Based in Berlin, the crews YouTube channel and Reptilian Mix series have garnered cult like status amongst a certain vintage of off-kilter dance music fans. More recently Tau Car has emerged from the Risky Bookings family into the limelight with some seriously classy mixes. 

Playing Dimensions for the first time in '24, the joy of their Beach Stage set was matched by the pairs smiles beaming from boats to dancefloors for the rest of the weekend. We're delighted to host their first ever podcast recorded together.

After releasing on labels including Correspondant, Have a Killer Time and Clouded Vision Records, Jo Howard aka Bird of Paradise has decided to launch his own imprint, Sulk Magic, to showcase music from himself and similarly musically aligned artists.

The debut Sulk Magic One see's five cuts of left field dance music, joined together by nothing other than their disregard for tropes or forms.

Al Gobi - Ian Blevins and Phil Moody who was previously released their music on labels like Culprit, XXX, Rothmans, Disco Bloodbath, Constant State in the name of few, now taking a part of this compilation and take us on a glam rock influenced detour into melodic techno with this amazing track.

Andrew Scott, aka NY*AK, brings some heavy jams for the first release of 2018 on Local Talk with his "Bound EP". We’re treated to four tracks. The last track 'Sandwiches' features long time collaborator Ian Blevins and contains fuzzed and thumping kicks, a muscular bass line to keep things moving, and a couple drops of acid flavours with rhodes chords to smooth things out. Topped off with some soulful vocal chops, this one's a bonafied workout! A stunning low deep groove for any Theo Parrish or Marcellus Pittman fans out there.

City Fly return for their 15th release, backed by serious muscle in the form of NY*AK, and fellow contributors Ian Blevins and Mark Hand, who make up the stomping and spectacular Afghan Jams EP. Starting strong is ‘Return’, with a relentless dub techno energy, graced later by soft vocals and euphoric violin strings making for an epic dancefloor anthem. ‘Slick’, with Mark Hand, veers off into a loose, crackly acid trip. It’s followed by ‘Troia’, rounding off side A with an all-out party of flutes and keys over one infectious ecosystem of drums. Then, on side B, ‘We Both Know’ comes through; NY*AK’s eye-catching, sample-heavy jam with Ian Blevins with an eerie bassline. And the EP concludes with title track ‘Afghan Jam’, featuring Mark Hand - a special groove captured mid-session. Something a house head can easily get lost in.
