When was the last time you listened to an actual ‘mixtape’? You probably think of one of the many mixes inhabiting our digital social spheres, which you might give a quick click or a fast listen. Dutch Drum and Bass connoisseurs Lenzman & Dan Stezo go back in time with the launch of their ‘Soul Tape’, an actual 60 minute cassette tape meant for the discerning Drum and Bass lover.

The Soul Tape is a limited give-away. The hand-crafted package comes in a hard-cover box, with additional T-shirt and a variety of stickers - all with custom artwork by Team Blazin'. Besides that The Soul Tape is a ‘cool’ and fresh (but hyper-traditional) take on the mix-format, it stems from Lenzman and Dan Stezo's 90s ritual of making Hiphop tapes for each other in school.

The Soul Tape exhibits tracks from the world’s finest Drum and Bass artists, blended by Lenzman with Dan Stezo’s narrative slang and distinct voice-over. As a combination they have worked together since 2003, and recently increased their collaborative spirit both on stage and on record. 2014 saw their first release ‘Move & Focus’ together as a combination on the esteemed Metalheadz imprint as part of Lenzman's debut album 'Looking At The Stars.

Lenzman’s tremendous success in his genre and his tour the force around the world doesn't keep him from maintaining a close circle. Long time confidant Team Blazin' adds the artwork in the form of handwritten calligraphy which articulates the Hiphop aesthetics, the three artists’ connecting factor and their shared stylistic background.

The Soul Tape is not for sale, as it is an initiative out of love for the craft, the music and their heritage. The 50 limited edition tapes will be given away to fans over a period of time. As it's holiday season, starting with 10 units via a Facebook “Share to Win” competition. Head over to the Metalheadz Facebook page and you might win a copy of The Soul Tape.

“When we were kids growing up it was all about tapes. It was a time where music was hard to come by and albums were played from start to finish, over and over... It was also a time where we made mixtapes for each other, recorded off CD, radio, whatever. Back then it was Hiphop. We are taking that aesthetics and giving you a piece of nostalgia which celebrates the love for our craft. We've made you a mixtape. This time it's not Hiphop but Drum and Bass music. This a hard-crafted package: 50 slices of nostalgia. Inside you will find a 60 minute tape, mixed and hosted by Lenzman and Dan Stezo. A t-shirt, a variety of stickers (Lenzman, Dan Stezo, Team Blazin', Metalheadz, The Soul Tape) and all of it will have custom artwork by Team Blazin'.”

Once upon a time Mister Hugo lived on a little planet called Earth. Hugo cherished the planet he grew up on and did his best to nurture both his friends and the environment. But as Hugo grew older, he watched the world he loved slowly turn sour and the ones he loved turn sick. This made him awfully upset.

Hugo was always a bright, starry-eyed boy and had spent most of his days with his head in the clouds. So it came as no surprise when one morning he had an ingenious idea. He decided to blast himself out of the Milky Way and into another galaxy towards a hopeful future for him and his friends.

On his first cosmic adventure, Mister Hugo discovers planet FRÖÖTI, a vibrant yet peculiar little world sandwiched between two giant purple suns. Upon landing, Hugo befriends a woman named Ellen who tells him of a particular calamity taking place on the planet. Hugo learns about the history of a healthy and harmonious species that turned into a disastrous hoard of gluttonous pests who now ravage the land. The unhealthy habits of these creatures have the small planet’s days decreasing at a rapid rate. Together Ellen and Hugo set out to restore FRÖÖTI back to a flourishing state and rekindle a love for its environment among its population.

There are many more challenges for Hugo and his friends to overcome. So, jump on board and join us on our next adventure!
