welcome to HORIZONTALS the new ambient / balearic project from London based dj & producer LEO ZERO

It was born out of Leo’s longstanding love-affair with Ibiza's sunset / chill-out culture which he became a devotee of since first visiting Cafe Del Mar in 1989. Leo went on to co-write one of the defining tracks of the scene - Chicane’s ‘Offshore’

Now with 30 years as a music producer under his belt, and a long history scoring bespoke music for film, tv and advertising, Leo has returned to the original Balearic sound he fell in love with, whilst also tuning into modern global sunset bar scene in Bali, Tulum and beyond. Across 10 tracks we touch on classic folk and flamenco leaning Spanish flavours, to glacial ambient synth soundscapes, and bang up to date organic / minimal house tracks.

New York natives John Paul Jones and Ryan Cavanagh of NYC make up the band Worst Friends. They’re actually really good friends that hang out in LA now making top notch balearic for any summer occasion and maybe the odd winter one.

The fellas have a handful of edits and remixes under their belt for Thom Yorke, M83 and Jack Johnson (!) just to name a couple and have popped up on labels such as Moodgadget, Ghostly and our little one for our Après compilation - obviously we haven’t been able to put down.

Neve’s For None is a track made with about 80% bliss and 21% sunshine and with Eddie C of Jisco fame on the remix it also brings a lot of party at the 7:15 mark. Peep the Slow Hands remix if your after something with a lot of playful percussion.

So a little back story on this track I played in Houston last December on the 29th. My mom had never seen me play before and her birthday is on the 30th so I dropped this for her at 12. Its pretty much just a remix/edit but it means a lot to me and hopefully it can do the same for you. Happy Mothers Day. (I lost the project file so its a lil rough but hey mommas don't care)
