After a successful second year in his musical career, the 23-year-old dj/producer Roy Knox hasn’t taken his foot off the pedal by starting 2021 with two absolute quality and distinguishable singles. His upcoming collaboration ‘Until The End’ with Caravn is a spectacular melodic bass/
dubstep single, fusing in a flawless way the extremely powerful and euphoric drops with Caravn’s heartbreaking lyrics and vocals. 

The French multi-talent Caravn digs deeper in the song’s story: “In this track I talk about the closest people we have, who leave us along the way. Even when our loved ones leave us (some sooner, some later), it doesn’t mean that they would be forgotten, as the memories stay alive reminding us of them along the way. I wrote this song after one of my best friends passed away, and my father nearly died at the hospital. Some lyrics are dedicated to my friend, such as “the sun was always brighter with you” and others are dedicated to my dad, like “now I hope you’re happy, you never did belong here, I know”. No matter what happens in life, the truth is that we love the ones we’ve lost until the bitter end.”

‘Until The End’ kicks off with a subtle guitar melody, giving the spotlight to Caravn to commence with his heartfelt storytelling. The track is a fantastic demonstration of the French vocalist’s talent - you can clearly hear and pick up all the raw emotions and painful memories in his voice and lyrics, as he progresses with his story. While the break performances are true pieces of art by Caravn, the overall production by Roy Knox doesn’t leave you shiverless either. The Israeli producer highlights in a masterful way the wide range of different feelings and dynamics in the breaks, while bringing on more elements as the story and track progresses, culminating into a beautiful synergy of pure energy and an all-around euphoric atmosphere, before unveiling the drop.

The wonderful chemistry on ‘Until The End’ resembles the best of what electronic music can be, when a highly-skilled and like-minded producer andsinger/songwriter work together, spoiling us with a track which we can't forget anytime soon.

“People can you hear me, here’s a message that I’m sending now”… Ringing a bell? To all the fans of the modern era of EDM, the iconic single ‘Leave The World Behind’ by Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello shouldn’t come across as unknown, being quite often connected to Ultra Music Festival and the beautiful sunset view over Bayfront Park. The original release played a big role, like the trio’s music in general, in creating and shaping up the golden years of EDM. Today, the highly emerging artists Egzod & Lunis joined forces to revive LTWB’s iconic melodies and lyrics with their electric trap cover, bringing us all back to 2009.

Egzod explains the reasoning behind the cover: “Leave The World Behind” was one of the first House tracks that made me want to get into making music and DJ-ing back in 2009. It’s a song that is attached to a lot of my great early day memories, and so I wanted to revisit it. Besides, as the world & economy is finally starting to reopen again after more than a year of demoralization, I hope that this song will inspire people to focus on the positive things and keep moving forward with what makes them happy.

Lunis continues: “Leave the world behind you… These words resonate differently during this strange phase we are all living in, deprived of live music and the exchange that this implies, with the artist and the audience. What if we all took a moment to close our eyes, and forget the world’s problems by letting ourselves be carried away to the rhythm of this 2021-rework of Swedish house Mafia hit single?”

The release of ‘Fake Promises’ sees three intriguing talents coming together for a truly unique and distinguishable collaboration. Kicking off with a fantastic guitar intro accompanied by an echoing, haunting vocal in the background, the track immediately hooks you in to its story from the very beginning. In the breaks, The Portugal-based multi-talent Elvis Drew narrates over a relationship based on lies and fake promises, with his stunningly authentic voice and interpretation, making the soundscape sound like being on a live gig. The drop sneaks up shortly after, almost taking you by surprise with its unexpected intensity. The drop is carried out by the gritty bassline and catchy vocal lead mixed up with the raw and energetic electric guitar, expertly crafted Kaphy and Bloom Line, being yours to listen at the official release date 4th of June.

Elvis Drew sheds some light to the track’s meaning: “the song’s theme revolves around a relationships which are based on fake promises, like saying to someone that “I will love you forever”, while you know well enough that it’s not going to happen. For the lyrics, I managed to draw some inspiration from a personal life experience, as the relationship I had years ago was indeed based on lies and fake promises."

The forthcoming release ‘Say Goodbye’ sees the Dutch talent B3RROR joining forces with the fellow countryman Sketchez and the absolutely
fabulous vocalist Marie Kavli for an euphoric future bass collaboration. Despite the track’s cheerful soundscape, its theme revolves around a more serious theme, telling a story about battling with an eating disorder and the struggle of breaking out of it. 

The 21-year-old B3RROR is a highly intriguing name in the scene - while strictly maintaining his focus on quality over quantity with his single releases on Spinnin’, STMPD and Seeking Blue, the skilled producer has also collaborated with the superstar KSHMR (‘Lies’) on Spinnin’ Records, besides being one of the songwriters in his most recent studio album - Midnight Lion Walk. After digging deeper to the Dutch artist’s recent productions, it’s safe to expect a proper breakthrough looming on the horizon.

The songwriter Kjersti Sleveland explains the backstory: “Even though you could imagine the lyrics telling a story about an unhealthy relationship, the theme actually revolves around battling with an eating disorder, and how controlling the obsession can be. It starts out pretty awesomely (just like in a relationship), while you think you got everything under control and you feel soooo good.. But then slowly the disorder takes control of you and you wish that you could just walk away... But that’s way harder than said, as you’re not behind the wheel in this ride.”

B3RROR sheds some light to the creation process: “This song started off with the guitar. Sketchez played a riff which we used as the foundation for the track, which can clearly be heard during the breaks. As soon as we had a clear idea and direction for the breaks, we came into the conclusion that the drop had to have a big climax with an energetic future bass soundscape. The intriguing contrast between having a very electronic drop and an organic break is what makes this song so unique. Marie Kavli then went on and completed the idea with her perfectly fitting topline”.

Imagine a world without spoken words and languages, where all the interaction between people and other creatures would be a mix of different sounds and signs with an abysmal amount of combinations how to express your feelings. Fusing different genres together, into a fascinating harmony of trap, wave and future bass, 32Stitches & Slowpalace take us for an otherwordly 3-minute ride into a realm of dark instrumental melodies and haunting, distorted vocal samples - for a journey so captivating, that one won’t even realise the track not having any vocals.

Slowpalace & 32Stitches comments: “Reflection” is a melancholic and emotional future bass/wave track that follows suit to our previous collaboration, “Full Throttle”. Reflection follows the same motif with soaring leads, distorted soundscapes, punchy basslines, and grand melodies.”

It’s going to be a day of firsts on September 17th, as 32Stitches & Slowpalace make their debuts on Future Generation, as well as getting the honor to have the first instrumental track being released on the label. The release of ‘Reflection’ sees the talented producers coming back for their second collaboration in 2021, with the intention of continuing their success after the release of ‘Full Throttle’ on Proximity earlier in the year. 

‘Reflection’ is Slowpalace at his best, being true to his signature, instrumental style within the wave/future bass genres. The Indian dj/producer 32Stitches’ influence can also be clearly heard in the track, fusing together the best of the both worlds. Slowpalace’s creative freedom in the studio has put him on the radar of multiple notable media outlets, such as Your EDM and This Song Slaps, which went as far as nominating the California-based producer as an Artist-to-Watch in 2021, leading to releases on top-tier labels Monstercat and Proximity. The collaborator 32Stitches is no stranger in the trap/future bass scene either, having become a household name with his hit singles ‘Astronomia’ and ‘Requiem for A Dream’, reaching tens of millions of streams across all platforms, besides being one of the most promising Indian artists out there.

Following to their successful collaboration ‘Ruined My Life’ on NCS in early 2021, EBEN & Shiah Maisel continue where they left off by joining forces for yet another high quality piece of music. Their newest record together, titled as ’Put Them Down’, is a fascinating mix of heavy-hitting trap & bass drops paired up with incredibly emotional, yet energetic vocals & songwriting. What really makes the biggest difference in the track, is how well the instrumental and vocals compliment each other. During the calmer sections, Shiah completely steals the spotlight with his profound childhood story about his father’s addiction, but as the track progresses towards the drops, not only Shiah’s vocals, but the entire production gradually picks up more steam, before unleashing the aggressive bass-infused drops.

Following to the massive success of his viral single ‘Royalty’, reaching over 35 Million plays since its release in April, the highly trending dj/producer Egzod is geared up to replicate the successful formula with his next top record. Titled as ‘The Real You’,  in collaboration with the popular featurist Neverwaves, the theme tackles a common issue in today’s society - the struggle of daring to be your true self without the fear and doubt of what other people might think of you. 

Neverwaves explains more in depth the thought process behind the theme: “This song is all about breaking free from ways of being that don’t serve us, that keep our true personalities suffocated and stifled. In today’s society there is a lot of pressure to fit in and carry yourself in certain ways. “I wonder what it would be like if we never had to grow up?” That’s a question, which each and everyone of us have been reflecting at some point of our lives, and a topic, which Bloom Line and Daye are tackling in their new feel-good collaboration. Titled as ‘Grow Up’, the track explores the territory of young love & innocence, but also the fear of growing up, being a lovely blend of emotional and delicate vocals paired up with stellar sound design and chill bass production. Being released on Future Generation at the 17th of June, ‘Grow Up’ is going to be the “go-to track” to listen during the warm summer evenings while reminiscing the golden childhood and teenage years.

The American singer/songwriter Daye opens up her thought process for the lyrics: “We wrote this song about young love & innocence. It’s a reflection about what could have been with your first love, and an exploration of what love could look like if the real world didn’t interfere.”

Bloom Line continues: “The song also reflects about the fear of growing up. How we get nostalgic when we think about our childhood and how everything was easier and simpler when we were young.”

“Well good for you, you look happy and healthy, not me, if you ever cared to ask..” Sounds familiar to you? Regardless if you are a true fan of Olivia Rodrigo or not, there’s absolutely zero chance you wouldn’t have heard her breakthrough-single ‘good 4 u’ at this point. Released in May 2021, the pop-punk single kickstarted its journey to stardom by going viral on TikTok, while picking up steam on all the other platforms, ending up being the most streamed single on Spotify and cementing the 19-year-old teen singer/songwriter as a certified superstar. Today, despite the fact of having only 11 official single releases on her belt, Olivia Rodrigo is the #39 most streamed artist on Spotify, and without a question one of the most prominent young artists for the future, if not the chosen one holding the crown.

After a string of quality single releases, racking up to all-time 300M streams collectively, the UK-based producer duo Culture Code, consisting of Chris Bains and Dylan Norton, are back with a stunning melodic bass rework of Olivia’s hit single. Their reimagination of “good 4 u” is nothing short of spectacular in its own genre, succeeding in a fascinating way in maintaining the raw emotions from the original song while turning the genre upside down into a powerful, bass-infused EDM cover. Another cool aspect in their cover is that besides producing the track by themselves, the other half of the duo, Dylan, is also singing the vocals for the track. After a string of quality single releases in 2022, and crossing all-time 300 Million plays collectively, the UK producer duo Culture Code is back for another stellar collaboration. Teaming up with the rapidly rising North American duo Caslow, best known for their releases on Monstercat, Dim Mak & Proximity, and the fabulous vocalist Nina Sung, famous for her collab ‘Only One’ with ILLENIUM on the iconic Ashes-album, the single is set to be a highly intriguing addition to August’s release calendar among all fans of melodic pop EDM. Titled as ’Wish You The Best’, the record is a profoundly emotional future bass single, with its heartfelt lyrics touching a painful, yet so common topic: “having troubles moving on from a romantic relationship”.

Garrett Raff, one of the three songwriters of the song, describes the theme as following: “The song is about having trouble moving on from a relationship and not wanting to see the other person doing better outside of it. You know it’s an inevitability that they’ll be happy with someone else, but you don’t want to accept that reality. It’s about wanting to be a big person and wish the other person well, but you’re just not there yet.”

During the past two years, which have been more or less difficult to each and everyone of us due to the ravaging global pandemic, the mental health and suicide prevention movements have really taken the center stage on social media, and for a perfectly valid reason. More and more artists, ranging all the way from smaller acts to the brightest stars out there, have been vocal and refreshingly honest about their mental struggles, paving the way for the everyday people to do as well. Music has always been there to channel the important, current topics to the masses, and this is the path the trio of talented artists Highlnd, Taylor Kade and Gracie Van Brunt are also following with their upcoming electric bass collaboration.

Backstory on ‘Up Until The Light’: “Elliot (Highlnd) and Gracie had an in-person session together back in November 2021, and as they were going through tracks to write to, they stumbled across one that Elliot and Taylor had produced together. They immediately started writing to it and so “Up Until The Light” was born. The record is a special one to all three artists, as it tells about being there for someone during an episode of mental struggles and suicidal thoughts, while ensuring this person that they won’t be going through it alone until they see the light and feel better again”.

After a string of quality releases on NCS and Future Generation in 2022, the Dutch multi-talent Arcando continues his steady rise on the scene with yet another impressive pop EDM production. Titled as ‘Nobody Else’, featuring fabulous vocal work by the British singer/songwriter Rory Hope, the track showcases a new side of Arcando’s extremely diverse production capabilities to the ever-growing audience. While his style is usually revolving around melodic future bass and trap genres, ‘Nobody Else’ turns a new page in his catalogue, being a true feel-good dance pop single, set to be released on Future Generation on the fourth of November.

Rory Hope reflects on the creation of ‘Nobody Else’: “The track pretty much revolved around a vocal sample Arcando had produced that was used as the post chorus hook... We listened to that hook over and over again while trying to get a meaning and vibe for how it sounded and created the topline around that. I’m personally a sucker when it comes to relationship or love orientated songs, guess thats my cup of tea as a topliner, so this project ended up coming together quite naturally once we got started with it.”

To the fans of the indie rock duo Seafret and the active users of TikTok, the British duo’s breathtaking single ‘Atlantis’ is no stranger to. Exploring the theme of escaping your problems, combined with the emotional storytelling and raw and heartfelt vocals, the production really frames itself as a masterpiece on its own.

After hosting a massive remix contest with Label Radar and Artists & Relations with nearly 250 entries, the beloved artists Culture Code, Caslow and Nina Sung are gearing up to release the full remix EP for their single ‘Wish You The Best’. Just as the title already indicates, the record is a profoundly emotional future bass single, with its heartfelt lyrics touching a painful, yet so common topic: “struggling to move on from a romantic relationship”.

The remix EP showcases remixes by the contest winner, South Korean dj/producer BrillLion, in addition to the rapidly rising artists VLCN, Spirit Link and Snow-Key, who are bringing an electric mix of melodic bass, future bass and dubstep remixes to the forefront of the fans of the original single, released back in August 2022.

The Canadian/American duo Caslow is introducing a new sound in their upcoming EP “Not A Phase” on Future Generation. The EP is an electric blend of the nostalgic 2000s pop punk sound and more modern melodic bass, showcasing their musical talent to adapt and merge flawlessly punk rock and electronic music.

Caslow’s shift into pop punk-influenced dance music will be led by the main single from the EP, titled as “Parachute”, with stunning vocal work by the American vocalist Manno, which is expected to catch the attention of those who are diving into the new era of EDM that many refer to as “rocktronic”.

“Parachute is the most personalized track from the EP as we were physically able to collaborate on the song in person. Living in two different countries makes that rather difficult for us as a norm. That being said, we were able to thoughtfully think of ways that would make this track more unique than we ever could on a video call. The writing, instrumentation and production were thought through more critically than our previous releases, allowing us to capitalize on such an amazing vocal provided by Manno.”

His newest joint-work with Svniivan, titled as ‘Poison’, combines one of the early 2021’s heaviest melodic dubstep drops with a feel-good, melodic break, being also a whole new genre to be seen on Future Generation.

The German singer/songwriter Svniivan sheds some light to the track’s meaning: “Poison is written about a toxic relationship and how hard it is to break up with someone you’ve known for such a long time, even though you acknowledge that being together only brings misery to the both of you at that point. Poison also reflects about the addiction to habits and pain.”
