For many hundreds of years the dragons had retreated deep in to the mountains, in caves hidden by their powerful magic. They retreated not because they could be harmed but because the people were not ready for what they had to teach.
A long time ago they approached those that ruled the lands, wanting to share what could help the people to grow and progress in a positive way. But over time the leaders kept the dragon knowledge to themselves, seeking to use it to have power over others, to rule over the people, misusing the dragon knowledge and enslaving as many as they could through their hidden arcane ways. The people began to fear the dragons, believing they were trying to enslave them, rumours and lies started by the corrupt leaders spread and caused a terrible fear of the dragons, so much so that armies were formed, weapons were made and the people turned on the dragons, the dragons who only wanted to help the people and set them free.
There were some, a few, who saw what was happening that remembered the truth and kept the truth alive through the generations by story telling, songs and even teaching some of the ancient magic to those they trusted. They hid themselves within the crowds, carrying the dragon knowledge with them and using it to help and only for good,  but without being found. Over time those who sought to control the people convinced them that the dragons were just myth, just stories, that they never existed, all while they used the knowledge to manipulate the people in to a life of self destruction, illusion and disempowerment. The hidden ones, the dragon mages, wizards, witches, priests, priestesses patiently waited, for they knew of the prophecy, the prophecy that foretold of the return of the dragons. For there would be one that knew the dragon song, sacred and holy words that when sung deep in the mountain caves it would awaken the dragon king who would lead the dragons back to teach their ways to those who are ready, when they are ready.....

The Priestess made her way in to the cave, holding her torch whose flame lit the path deep, deep down in to the vast opening. A massive cave whose stalactites and stalagmites formed over centuries of time made it look like a sacred temple. There she carefully prepared the space and breathed deeply filling her lungs with the clean air, ready to sing the song of dragons.......
