This track means a lot to me personally, as I came up with part of the instrumental while fairly deep in alcohol addiction, and then, came back and finished it during my subsequent non-abstinence/medicine-based recovery using The Sinclair Method—aka targeted Naltrexone treatment—for alcohol use disorder (I have a whole post on Instagram that goes into all of this, but feel free to DM if you want to learn more). 

Anyway, Rob didn’t know about any of this at the time—although I’m sure he knew something was going on—when I sent him the instrumental, yet somehow he wrote lyrics that really hit home for me and what I was going through (they were so moving in fact that I ended up going back into the track and writing a completely new breakdown and drop).  

But I digress.  

Life is filled with high points and low points; struggles and triumphs; lightness and darkness. 

But music is there to help you through all of it, just like this song did for me.
