Happy to share the fourth Hyperborea session, featuring our guest @serafim-tsotsonis, a pianist, music producer, and sound designer based in Greece. In addition to his solo work, he is one half of the dream-pop duo Ocean Hope, together with his sister Angeliki. 

In this session, Serafim blends ambient textures, modern classical elements, and dream-pop fragments with a cinematic sense of space. Expect moments of fragile melancholy and slow-burning beauty, where delicate piano motifs, hushed vocals, and atmospheric electronics drift into a contemplative soundscape.

Hyperborea 006 - Ricardo Tobar

The night had turned cold by the time Camu began, but inside La Cabaña, everything felt suspended: warm light, still bodies, a low hum stretching through wood and pine. People settled into corners, wrapped in layers, quieted by the vibration that marked the start. The music felt transmitted, its slow-moving drones drifting through the wooden walls and into the forest beyond. The sound rolled out like fog under moonlight, patient, opaque, its motion too subtle to measure. It was music to dissolve into.
Minutes became air. The cabin started to tremble. Camu’s sense of space was uncanny, each drone a line drawn in mist, each pause a small release of gravity. Later came the fragments: field recordings, faint acapellas, echoes of the forest replayed from another world. By then, the cabin no longer felt grounded. It was a stationary vessel, hovering somewhere between the trees and the stars, surrounded by invisible energy. Somewhere, just beyond the clearing, Pablo’s bass murmured like thunder in a parallel world. When silence finally returned, it wasn’t emptiness; it was the echo of what had passed through.

Delayed x Perpendicular: Camu

Almost forgot about the anniversary of one of my favorite sets.

20 years have passed since that night, yet it still feels like yesterday.

Most of the tracks in this mix came from my friend and brother, Marko Fürstenberg (aka Surphase / Dolby).

I kept this one close for years, shared it only with a few real ones.

Marko — thanks for the beautiful music, for the unreleased tracks I was lucky to have back then, and for being one of the biggest musical influences in my life.

Third artist to grace us in this Clone-curated month of October, The Hague’s one-and-only analogue wizard Legowelt surfaces with a mix sprawling from esoteric proto-techno to hallucinogenic electro, via trance-infused dreamscapes, eerie pop and mystique-imbued downtempo. As the true master of the synths he is, Legowelt has us traveling far and deep into a layered multiverse of dazzling hardware stutter and iridescent machine funk out a frizzling, VHS-supported headspace. Effusively vivid and durably haunting 8-bit-informed tapestries succeed through this glitchy maze of fractured tempi and vectorial stunts, cascading seamlessly as Legowelt pulls off yet another magnetic expression of retro-laced granularity and enhanced organic synthesis. Continuum: a coherent whole characterised as a collection, sequence, or progression of values or elements varying by minute degrees.

We continue our five year anniversary celebrations, and as promised, this week brings a new mix. And this one is of those special pieces of music that arrived wrapped in mysterious fog and enigma. It couldn't be in any other way, since it is Eafhm who is behind this piece. 

Those who have been drawn to the introspective and hypnotic realms of electronic music will surely have a special place in their hearts for Secuencias Temporales. A label that has been instrumental for the expansion of the styles of music this podcast has always loved. Secuencias Temporales has been home to many artists first releases, and a platform that has discovered talent across the globe. Their catalogue now stands a seminal collection for our beloved genres, and the cast featured in those releases is truly an All Star one. And the man behind it all is no other than Eafhm, Jorge. 

The elusive producer, sound designer and dj, hailing from Mexico, has a special touch for depth in sound. He has incredible releases on staple labels like Oslated, Diffuse Reality, or his own Secuencias Temporales. 

For this mix, Jorge gifted us with a selection that is as unique and, at least to me, mysterious, as the ways he operates. A beautiful collection of cinematic music, expansive atmospheres, relentless drums and dramatic soundscapes. Unclassifiable, unique and adventurous, we were waiting for the right time to share such a one of a kind piece from such a one of a kind artist. And our anniversary releases seemed the ideal occasion. 

We held onto this for quite some time waiting for the moment, we can't thank you enough Jorge for this one.
