From the deep depths of Detroit’s East Side, comes Shawescape Renegade who sometimes go by just Shawescape or in conversations, Shaw, for short. An Electro Enthusiast to his hearts core, he’s very familiar around the corners of Detroit Electro. Shaw’s first official vinyl record debut was in 2018, releasing solely on his own, to now having his own record label, Andromeda Galaxies 313 with many future projects on the horizon, set to land in 2024 and 25. He will be in Berlin this year, all of August and September and he’s also set to head to Spain in October, looking to level the playing field with a bit more Electro on the grounds. I am happy to present our first tape release by The Jaffa Kid as part of the brand new Digital Artefacts series. 

The series is an ode to the sound of the 90s, from Electro, IDM and Jungle to further different experimental stuff and sounds. The choice of tape as format seemed fitting for the aesthetic of the series. 

The first EP comes from UK based The Jaffa Kid (previously on 030303, Dischi Nottetempo, Gated Recordings and more) and is a solid mixture of Electro, Techno and beyond.

Influenced by cult Dutch electronic labels, Detroit electro, Miami bass, early Chicago and P-Funk/G-Funk, Ole Mic Odd’s music and performances are driven by hardware electronics, live recordings and improvisation. His live sets weave together techno, acid, electro, synth-wave and jakbeat styles, while recordings range from acid electro and jackin techno to stomping house and ambient synth improvisations.

OMO has released on KRI Records, Kraftjerkz, Source Material, Zement, Dead Channel, Natural Sciences, New York Haunted, Another Perspective, Hilltown Disco, Clan Destine and Up North Records, among others. He has releases forthcoming on Jungle Gym Records, Zonate, and other labels.
