Squid are cephalopods of the two orders Myopsida and Oegopsida. Like octopuses, squids have a distinct head, beak for munching food, and maneuverable tentacles, though many squids lack maneuverability with but two tentacles; the others are for steering it through the water at incredible speeds.

Their incredible central nervous system, the "Axon", (up to 1 mm 0.04 in) in diameter in some larger species, innervates their mantles and controls part of their jet propulsion system. As cephalopods, squid exhibit relatively high intelligence among invertebrates. For example, groups of Humboldt squid hunt cooperatively, using active communication. 

The sadly misunderstood Colossal Squid was discovered in 2003. They may grow to 14 m (46 ft) in length with deep sea's gigantism, making it the largest invertebrate, and with the largest eyes in the animal kingdom.

Moths comprise a group of insects related to butterflies, belonging to the order Lepidoptera. 

There are thought to be approximately 160,000 species of moth. Most species of moth are nocturnal, but they can also be crepuscular and diurnal species.

Despite being notorious for eating clothing, most moth adults do not eat at all. Many, like the Luna, Polyphemus, Atlas, Promethea, cecropia, and other large moths do not have mouth parts. 

While there are many species of adult moths that do eat, there are many that will drink nectar. Many don't eat at all. 

Moths who fly into lights are following instinctual patterns to travel towards lunar light. Let them go.

Parrots, also known as psittacines, are mischievous, intelligent, playful birds, of the of the order Psittaciformes. They are found in most tropical and subtropical regions. 

Their observant and charismatic nature wins them affection among humans. Their high intelligence grants them ability to use tools, and they have wide vocal arrays, exceeding the range of most animals. 

They are often characterized by their vibrant colors, usually due to their healthy diet of fruits and nuts.

they are often valued by humans for companionship and for their ability to hunt "pest animals". cats have a high breeding rate and often grow to be feral strays and scavengers. with the help of community shelters, feral cat populations are minimized to protect them from cars and predators. 

derived from their apex ancestors, cats make dozens of different 
vocalizations, and have the ability to perceive energies beyond the human range of perception. 

cats are obligatory survivors, and they are brilliant and live beautiful lives.

The donkey (Equus africanus asinus) is a domesticated member of the horse family, Equidae. They have been exploited as a working animal for at least 5000 years. 

There are more than 40 million donkeys in the world, mostly in underdeveloped countries, where they are used principally as draught or pack animals, breeding. They are also kept as pets in developed countries.

Donkeys vary considerably in size, depending on breed and management. The height at the withers ranges from 7.3 to 15.3 hands (31 to 63 inches, 79 to 160 cm), and the weight from 80 to 480 kg (180 to 1,060 lb). Working donkeys in the poorest countries have a life expectancy of 12 to 15 years; in more prosperous countries, they may have a lifespan of 30 to 50 years.

Donkeys are adapted to marginal desert lands. Unlike wild and feral horses, wild donkeys in dry areas are solitary and do not form harems. 

Each adult donkey establishes a home range; breeding over a large area may be dominated by one jack. The loud call or bray of the donkey, which typically lasts for twenty seconds and can be heard for over three kilometers, may help keep in contact with other donkeys over the wide spaces of the desert.

Donkeys exhibit vastly intelligent behavior, although formal studies of their behavior and cognition are rather limited. Donkeys appear to be quite intelligent, cautious, friendly, playful, and eager to learn.

Donkeys have a notorious reputation for stubbornness, but this has been attributed to a much stronger sense of self-preservation than exhibited by horses. Likely based on a stronger prey instinct and a weaker connection with humans, it is considerably more difficult to force or frighten a donkey into doing something they perceive to be dangerous for whatever reason. 

Humans will still need to earn their trust as companions.

The reindeer (Rangifer tarandus), also known as the caribou in North America, are a species of deer with circumpolar distribution, native to Arctic, sub-Arctic, tundra, boreal, and mountainous regions of northern Europe, Siberia, and North America.

The New York Times reported in April 2018 of the disappearance of the only herd of southern mountain caribous in the lower 48 states, with an expert calling them "functionally extinct" after their herd's size dwindled to a mere three animals.

Some subspecies are rare and at least one of their family have already become extinct: the Queen Charlotte Islands caribou of Canada. 

Hunting wild reindeer and herding of semi-domesticated reindeer are important to several Arctic and sub-Arctic peoples, whom consume their flesh, and use their hides, antlers, milk, and transportation; 

but this creates conflict for caribou, whom are notoriously noble and wary creatures. Caribou enjoy large arctic and sub-arctic plains. Male and female reindeer can grow antlers annually.  They are the only cervid species in which females grow them as well as males.

Male reindeer use their antlers to compete with other males during the courting season. They engage in frequent and furious sparring battles with their antlers. Large males with large antlers do most of the courting of females. 

A clicking sound can be heard within the knees of some caribou. The frequency of the knee-clicks is one of many signals that establish dominance among reindeer.


A study by researchers from University College London in 2011 revealed that reindeer can see light with wavelengths as short as 320 nm (i.e. in the ultraviolet range), considerably below the human threshold of 400 nm. It is thought that this ability helps them to survive in the Arctic, because many objects that blend into the landscape in light visible to humans, such as urine and fur, produce sharp contrasts in ultraviolet. 

A study at the University of Tromsø has confirmed that "Arctic reindeer eyes change in colour through the seasons from gold through to blue to help them better detect predators..."

When bull reindeer shed their antlers in early to midwinter, the antlered female reindeer acquire the highest ranks in the feeding hierarchy, gaining access to the best forage areas. These cows are healthier than those without antlers.

White-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) commonly carry meningeal worm or brainworm, a nematode parasite that causes reindeer, moose (Alces alces), elk (Cervus canadensis), and mule deer (Odocoileus hemionus) to develop fatal neurological symptoms. This does not include the commonly thought symptom of rainworms to "lose fear of humans" as domestication is irrelevant to their health. Additionally, a variety of predators prey heavily on reindeer, including eagles, bears, and overhunting by people in some areas, which contributes to the decline of populations.

Inspired by the tragic attack on a wild cairina during a visit to Lake Eola

Cairina, or "Muscovy Duck", is a species of the duck family in the bird family Anatidae. They have two species, who are similar anatomically but quite distinct in external morphology.

"Muscovy" is an old name for the region of Russia surrounding Moscow, but these ducks are neither native there nor were they introduced there before they became known in Western Europe. 

It is not quite clear how the term came about, but the implication is that the beautiful bird is native to Egypt, given the root of "Cairo" in their name. 

This non-migratory species normally inhabits forested swamps, lakes, streams and nearby grassland and farm crops, and often roosts in trees at night. 

They are large, territorial ducks, with the males about 76 cm (30 in) long, and weighing up to 7 kg (15 lb). Females are considerably smaller; they only grow to 3 kg (6.6 lb), roughly half the males' size. 

Although the Muscovy ducks are tropical birds, they adapt well to cooler climates, thriving in weather as cold as −12 °C (10 °F) and able to survive even colder conditions. 

Please stop calling this duck "barbary" and eating them. Eating animals is bad for your health, and bad for the planet. Go vegan and taste what you've been missing!

Beruang matahari (Helarctos malayanus) adalah spesies beruang yang berlaku di habitat hutan tropika di Asia Tenggara. Bulu beruang matahari biasanya jet-hitam, pendek, dan ramping dengan beberapa bulu di bawah;

puncaknya dilihat di sisi leher mereka dan whorl berlaku di pusat patch payudara mereka. Sentiasa, patch pucat berbentuk bulan sabit yang lebih atau kurang dijumpai pada payudara mereka yang berbeza-beza secara individu dalam warna mulai dari buff, krim, atau putih kotor hingga ochreous.

The sun bear is a bear species occurring in tropical forest habitats of Southeast Asia. They are listed as "Vulnerable" on the IUCN Endangered Species Red List. 

Their global populations are thought to have declined by more than 30% over the past three bear generations. 

The sun bear's fur is usually jet-black, short, and sleek with some under-wool; a whorl crest is seen in the centre of their breast patch.

To eat, the sun bear can extend their exceptionally long tongue 20–25 cm (7.9–9.8 in) out of their jaws. 

Sun bears have excellent claws for tearing logs apart, to extract the food they eat. Unlike their relatives, sun bears do not hibernate.

Suitable habitat has been dramatically reduced due to the large-scale agribusiness and industrialization over their homes. 

It's up to you, the people, to control these corporate projects, and to help recover the habitats and homes of millions of animals.
