The first real futureprojectPT track - 'Outside' was thrown together on a Saturday morning early February 2009, in the spare room of my apartment in Kensington (Melbourne, Australia).  
Intro guitar solo was done in one take, and whilst I had really intended the track more as a 'testing the new recording equipment' kind of deal, it's still one of my favorite rock tunes.

Outside - Instrumental Version (Original Demo)

'Drag Me Down' was the first of many recordings made in my Studio City apartment after moving to the US.  It's me, one awesome Seagull acoustic guitar, a basic drum loop, my iMac and a Stealth Plug USB input.

It's also me being a little bit brave - whilst the vocals are basic and recorded with nothing more than the built-in microphone on my iMac - this is the first (and perhaps only)time I'm actually uploading a song with vocals here.  Wish me luck!

Drag Me Down (Original Demo)

'Don't Deserve' was written and recorded late 2011 in Studio City, CA.  Yet another tune to take place entirely in my former bedroom, I love the mix of acoustic mellow and electric rock.  

PT Tip: if 7+ mins is too long for you to handle, skip to around 4:40, and 6:00.  That is, if you want to miss out on the diverse aural landscape that makes this song a little rough around the edges, but an awesome ride.

Don't Deserve - Instrumental Version (Original Demo)

Recorded in Studio City, California back in early 2011, 'Waiting' was the first epic rock track thrown together with my at-the-time-brand-new ESP EX guitar and Hughes and Kettner Amp.  

I love the changes, overall energy and positive feel of the song, mixed with the darker-edged bridge (which you'll find at 4 mins and 9 seconds, if you're a track skipping kind of listener).

Waiting - Instrumental Version (Original Demo)

'Gone Too' is song number 2 in a 3 part trilogy ('Gone Today' being part 1, and 'Gone Now' currently being completed as part 3).  

Written and recorded June / July 2011 in Studio City, CA, 'Gone Too' tells the bitter story of a relationship ended, after 'Gone Today' was more about dealing with distance in a relationship.  It's a simple acoustic tune, but one I still love to pick up the guitar and sing along to.  As always, for your benefit, this is NOT the vocal version of the song.

Gone Too - Instrumental Version (Original Demo)

After writing what I knew was a very simple acoustic tune that was easy and fun to play, it dawned on me (rather quickly) that 'Inside These Walls' kinda sounded like a tune you'd hear on a television travel series.  At that point I decided to inject a little more electric guitar - still keeping it a simple, easy listen, but making it more dynamic.  A little over three years later, I still dig it...but have not yet managed to put down a vocal track.

Written and recorded back in August 2010 - a matter of months after moving from Australia to the US, 'A Life Behind' tells the story of the highs and lows of new beginnings, and moving forward whilst tightly  holding onto a past at odds with the present.  It was also recorded more or less in one take.

After being on my To Do List for the past 1.5 years, the 'Gone Now' demo is finally complete (sans my wretched vocals, as usual). The third in the futureprojectPT 'Gone' series ('Gone Today' from 2009 being part 1, 'Gone Too' from 2011 being part 2), 'Gone Now' tells the story of the struggle to find a way to really live whilst being alive despite constant personal setbacks and our inability to fully let go of the past. It also rocks a hell of a lot more than the previous 'Gone' tracks. Full metal at around the 4:19 mark...if listening to a full 7:40 of song isn't your thing.

Gone Now - Instrumental Version (Original Demo)

I don't always propose to my girlfriend, but when I do, I do it with a tune. This tune, to be exact.  Written late 2013 whilst at home in Australia, recording then begun late 2014 back in Los Angeles, procrastination and life kicked in, recording finally complete mid 2016.  Meanwhile the proposal took place with an acoustic version of the song over a year ago and the wedding has just happened.  Yes, she said "Yes!" to my cheesy gesture of proposing via song. Phew!

From it's simple acoustic origin and purpose, 'What I'm Trying to Say' has grown into a super fun rock song that has ended up being one of the most complete tunes I've recorded so far.

What I'm Trying To Say - Instrumental Version (Original Demo)

Another track written and recorded way back when (well late April 2009 to be exact) in my Kensington (Melbourne, Australia) apartment. After doing something more mellow with 'Gone Today' earlier that month, I figured a dose of Metallica-influenced-metal was required.

Whilst the track suffers a bit from the obvious lack of real drums, and the difficulty in throwing down a software-driven double kick drum effect during the chorus, I still dig the main guitar riff which at the time was responsible for a left-index-finger injury after recording for too many hours without a break. ROCK!

...Thought it was time to get something up and running for this little solo-musical-bedroom-hobby of mine. 

I've recorded a bunch of tunes over the past few years - mostly with layered guitars, sometimes a bit of bass, drum loops, and usually lyrics that I'm still not confident to set upon the public domain.
