Session 9 - Manifiesta

So there you go damas y caballeros! 

Here comes a recap of the music I bumped into during my trip to the caribbean coast of Colombia in 2019. I spent about 2 months over there investigating and learning about „Champeta“ music: a word that stands for Afro-Colombian music. Being myself Dj-ing Global Bass, all of a sudden I found myself diving into the world of some old-school local soundsystems (the „picós“). This Mix closes the series of interviews Ive done in Colombia last year. On this musical journey you will hear a lot of african sounds from the 80s-90s, such as Soukous or Ndombolo, a touch of Haitian Zouk, Colombian Champeta, some Reggae from Panama and last but not least a few Salsa jewels. 
So close your eyes, get your hips ready and get a free trip to the shores of the cities of Cartagena and Barranquilla, their warm breeze and their sweaty dancefloors. Sway with me on this journey through space and time!
