Too many past encounters will lay idle on my mind.
The last known soldier has died. Believe me, I could have lied. These words held weight when I wrote them down, aged 25. Now I cannot give you my time. I’m not gonna give it up.
Maybe this all stems from the time when I got left far behind. I reached my lowest point. I had a run in with the guards. Then I tried to leave school and that made my mother cry. But I cannot give you my time. I’m not gonna give it up.
