The Frantic Five-ILLComeAgain

The Psykicks were formed at 2000 a.d. in Athens, Greece, in order to blow some minds, a mission terminated with a final gig on April 17, 2008. During their days of action they released a s/t E.P. and the Ignition Time L.P. among other releases -such as home-made C.D.s and participations in several compilations- and enjoyed their share of live performances, all in a haze of good ol' garagesurfmotorcityacid punk. Since their disbandment, past the point of no return, they are travelling in outer space, each on his own trip, searching for humans and other animals.

Just before they called it a day, they recorded a final L.P., Down the Drain, produced by the notorious Jim Spliff, which remained unreleased since early 2008 and until today, when it' s finally out by Fuzz Overdose Records. It contains new versions of some of their oldest songs, for the first time on vinyl, as well as their very last creations, composed in the eve of the end, plus two covers, and exhibits their full potential in fuzzadelic rock 'n' roll, often polarized between sinister teenage fun and esoteric parachuting. So here it comes, only on vinyl, exclusively for real kids, guaranteed to satisfy your soul - if you' ve got one.

The Psykicks-Dark Side Of The Mushroom

It seems that new garage generation in Greece is very active with some really cool new bands! One of them is the almost female band The Mongrelettes (with four wylde girls and one guy). They’ ve been in action since 2009. Two of them were also members in other cool garage bands in the past.  Marika was the lead singer of The B Sides and Chris was the organ player of The Teddy Boys From The Crypt and The Psykicks. The sound of Mongrelettes is influenced by the 60’s US garage, the 60’s French beat and the 80’s n garage revival sounds!

I saw them live in their first gig in January 2010, when they supported the Magnificent Brotherhood from Germany. It was a nice surprise for me and I was impressed by their fresh sound, the sweet female vocals and their farfisa driven garage beat stomps.

Their new 7”ep on the very active Fuzz Overdose Records delivers 4 great original songs. A-side contains the French garage beat song “Mon mec a moi” (that’s gonna make you move your feet with its organ driven shakin’ rhythm }and the amazing moody garage song “My baby is gone” that finishes with an explosive rhythm driven by Silver’s hits and Marika’s screams. On B-side the amazing “You got me crying” with Marilou’s fuzzy guitars, Penny’s exciting bass lines and Chris’ great farfisa sound brings in my mynd some really cool female garage bands from the States in the 80’s like the Pandoras and The Brood. The EP closes with the stormy garage punk stomp “Take it easy” showing the wyld part of the band!!! Excellent debut 7”ep by The Mongrelettes. Don’t miss to see them live!!!”

The Mongrelettes-You Got Me Crying

Hell yeah!!! After 11 years, here comes the second 7" from this amazing and historic all-female band from Athens, Greece. Influenced by the 60's era and the 80's garage punk revival scene, the band started playing in 1996, and it's obvious that they are one of the most beloved bands in the Greek Garage Punk scene. That's because their charm comes together with a great attitude and an excellent talent in songwriting and in driving the crowd mad!

Their second single titled "No More", which our label is really proud to release, is a great example of THE MEANIE GEANIES magnificence... with a sound that takes you back to 1966, and amazing cover artwork designed by Darren Merinuk.

From the cradle of the western civilization,Greece, comes an exciting new group called The B-Sides. This talented group of youngsters hails from Athens,and their music is a perfect mix of moody tunes and US primitive 66 punk.

Led by Farfisa-master Apostolos Stragalinos,who's behind most of their own song material,this 5-piece combo also consists of Maria Gianniou who's lead vocals provides the band with a totally unique wylde sound.

Panos Ramone(Drums)and Lefteris Galanis(Bass) stand for the solid beat,and John Fragoulis who together with Maria also contributes to the songwriting,is behind the twangy Fuzz-guitar element! Regardless of what your kind of favorite music is,their debut album "On the Out-Side",gives you a whole prisma of what garage music is all about.From the moody to the groovy!!The album also consists of some well choosen covers that the crew interpretates with new enthusiasm and wild performance.

Ten years later we are happy and proud to welcome this band,THE STATYCS in FUZZ OVERDOSE RECORDS family.BRAINTHROUGH is the band’s debut release ,an absolutely amazing ORGAN-DRENCHED album with ten brand new and own compositions and one cover(surprisingly an unusual for a Garage Rock band).
