Over the past few years, Retromigration has built up a loyal following and gained solid support from tastemakers within the electronic music press and radio landscape. For example, BBC Radio 1, NTS Radio, Worldwide FM, Mixmag, DJ Mag, Phonica, Ransom Note, 5 Magazine, Bolting Bits, SlothBoogie all giving his music their seal of approval. His debut LP, ‘Straight Foxin’, is a carefully curated and crafted journey showcasing the creative explosions firing off in his brain. Joining the dots between genres, taking elements from here, ideas from there – twisting and turning yet never out of place. It contains fourteen expertly executed tracks, ranging from hazy beats and jazz-tinged broken rhythms to club-ready groovers, deep excursions, soulful footwork and even some jungle energy. An LP that has long been in the works (and for good reason), it’s packed with a flavour for every occasion Straight Foxin, mad flexin – Retromigration has laid down the law with this LP, a debut album done right.

Having already made his mark with releases on Too Many Rules, Slothboogie, and Jack City Records, Dutch DJ/Producer Tom Wanders - aka Sudden Moves - now lands an impressive debut on Phil Weeks’ legendary Robsoul Recordings.
This release is a heartfelt tribute to the early-to-mid 2000s jackin' house era - a sound that continues to inspire him today. Rather than simply replicating the past, he set out to capture its raw energy and inject his own unique twist. After countless hours of deep digging and meticulous micro-chopping, the result is three fresh, frenetically funky joints crafted with love and intricate attention to detail.
“Each track is infused with a different influence: ’80s funk, disco, and hip-hop - three genres that shaped my musical taste,” says Sudden Moves. “In a way, it’s a homage within a homage. But isn’t that what we’re all doing — paying tribute in our own way?”

Originally from Brisbane, and having released music on Nerang Recordings and Inhale Exhale, DJ Dream Machine has chosen to hone his talents in the frostier climates of nipaluna/Hobart.

His stellar track 'Think About U', featured as part of our recent compilation Neu Hörizöns Vol. I [NH001], has racked up 10,000+ listens across Soundcloud and Youtube. The track combines shimmering glissandos with well-tuned breaks, and straddles the line between club track and heady home listen perfectly. A rotor-reverie beat that's intersected by a throwback vocal; it's a shining example of what's heating up in our southernmost city.

Only U [NH004] fires the first shot with its title track; infused with the belief that you're the greatest dancer, set amongst the smoke and haze of a antipodean dance-floor. 'A4Pad' features breathy shimmering synth lines riding on top of a driving breaks pattern. The offbeat hi-hats and grounded rhythm of 'Deep Breath' invokes cruising round on ice buggies by Davis Station. The release is rounded out by the infectious 'B is for Bubble', which echoes back to the 90's dance music scene in Brisbane.
