Moon Harbour on its second inhouse flight. Started as classic deep house imprint back in 2000, Moon Harbour has released almost 30 records on vinyl plus four CDs during the past seven years and thus succeeded in establishing itself as a reliable address for highly effective club records.

A lot has changed since the first “Inhouse Flight”: Luna City Express entered the stage, moving on to release three records that hit dancefloors and DJ charts likewise. Daniel Stefanik established the sublabel Cargo Edition and presented his “Bad Ass Mixes” on mothership Moon Harbour. Just recently, readers of German magazine GROOVE honoured him as one of the newcomers of 2006. Together with label leader and close friend Matthias Tanzmann, he now represents Moon Harbour with worldwide DJ bookings. But 2006 has been a great year altogether: With previously unknown consistency, Moon Harbour records have found their way into the cases of world-renowned DJs, newly recruited Leif & Tom Ellis and Samim making their contributions as well.

“Moon Harbour Inhouse Vol. 2” keeps the story going and without much looking-back: All label artists have delivered brand new exclusive tracks (being released on vinyl as well), joined by swiss Michal Ho (who already had records on Tuning Spork and Freizeitglauben together with Samim) and home-grown Dan Drastic, fellow citizen of Leipzig.

Besides the vinyl release there is a mix-CD worth mentioning, containing not only the eight exclusive tracks but also some of the recent Moon Harbour catalogue – blended together by Berlin-based Luna City Express.

Collaborations is the new vinyl only series from Unlock Recordings. Made by some of the label’s artists and friends who share a similar vision and a way of making music. Each record will have four tracks from different artists and this first release features Leonel Castillo, Franco Cinelli, Jorge Savoretti and Fosky. Artwork by Argentinian graphic talent Gisela Faure.

We are very happy about this new phase in our label but mostly of being able to work with artists that we admire and respect a lot.

As the misfits, Freaks and outsiders started their journey into the weird and wonderful alleys of the underground, lurking in an occasional kebab and chip shop down one of those streets was a future master of the art, Lil’ Mark! 
Drawn to electronics, electronic music and electronic component stores, Mark was lured by the snare of an 808 he’d heard. Chips became ‘chips’ - the journey had begun.
He watched, listened, learned and then blagged his way to Chicago to learn properly from the other misfits across the pond. There he was initiated into the home of House Music staying with one of the godfathers of the scene Derrick Carter. By this point all was lost for Mark, he would never be able to shake off his addiction for the true path. On his return, he donned his cape and claimed his rightful place at the table of the 909. 
The sonic ingredients for Mark’s new release on MFF, The Future Back Then EP were found in the back room of one of those Chicago clubs. These ingredients have been used, abused, lost and found in the past. Simple and effective, they walk in and out of people lives, causing happiness, forging friendships, creating memories. They come into fashion and leave, but their legacy has already been cemented. The ingredients for the Acid House sound are as influential as ever, 25 years since they stole the hearts of a generation.
The Future Back Then EP is a progressive ballad of sounds that echo back to their birth place. Minimal and matter of fact with LA’s underground house head, Mikey V adding a deep vocal hook, this is a record that wears its influences on its sleeve. 
Complimented by a remix from the Music For Freaks founding fathers (and their 1st remix of a new release on the recently re-launched label), Freaks have flipped the script on the original and catapulted it into the next decade.
