Recently I realised that while I've been DJing here and there, it has been over a year since I last uploaded a mix! While I love sitting on Ableton for countless hours and sometimes releasing a track, I should also be captuing some energetic moments on the 1's and 2's.

This year I hope to record and play at least once mix a month starting with January 2024. This mix is a combination of songs I discovered and played at Lalalas, The Prince, and a few house raves over the course of 2023.

January 2024 Mix

Cutting February finely with a special /LEAP/ year mix. This mix contains some hastily mixed trance, donk, and nightcore. Although not always my exact style this was an extremely fun set to record.

G-Emerald - 2Dance

‘Club Wave’ is a long awaited debut EP by Kaurna Land/Adelaide based G-Emerald. A self described enigma, in the last year he’s fostered a deep and healthy relationship with Gadigal Land/Sydney based label Extra Spicy, headed up by Mincy, which has resulted in his first ever four track.

‘Rowback’ is a dizzying, quick & techy roller that would feel at home on just about any dance floor. G-Emerald has succeeded in layering each element throughout this 6:15 stand out in a way that doesn’t feel like that of a debut EP. 

Pads, bouncy bass and a combination of tight & wide high hats regularly float in & out as its leading vocal sample does. This is one we’ll be hearing for a while.

‘Club Wave’ releases via Extra Spicy’s Bandcamp & on all streaming services on Thursday, March 20.
