In deze aflevering zijn wij in Den Haag op bezoek bij Mirko Kuit. Mirko is een van de meest onderbelicht krachten uit de hardcore. Er zijn weinig mensen die, achter de schermen, zoveel meters voor de hardcore hebben gemaakt. En hij heeft verhuisdozen vol foto’s en negatieven om dat te bewijzen. Als huisfotograaf van ID&T, Thunderdome en hun Thunder Magazine is Mirko grotendeels eigenhandig verantwoordelijk geweest voor het vastleggen van de gabber-hype die Nederland midden jaren ‘90 overstroomde. Hij legde Nederlands grootste, op eigen bodem ontstane, jeugdcultuur eigenhandig vast en kreeg pas vijfentwintig jaar later de waardering die hij verdiende. Na de piek van de hardcore stortte bij in een diep dal en hervond zichzelf langs de rand van de afgrond. Genoeg om over te praten dus in de achtste aflevering van de Ekte Verhalen podcast.

In de tiende aflevering van het vierde seizoen van de Ekte Verhalen podcast van Elitepauper zijn wij te gast bij een echte jongen van het leven. Bij een Noorderling in Amsterdam. Een jongen opgegroeid in een Leeuwardense volkswijk, die al bijna dertig jaar een gevestigde naam is in de hardcore. Maar ook iemand die de pieken en de dalen van het leven kent, en niet bang is om daarover te praten. Hij was een onderdeel van de derde, en vooral gouden, hardcore generatie. Opgekomen midden jaren negentig, als rocksterren van de nineties. In de hoogtijdagen van de hardcore groeide, hij op de golven van Thunderdome en TMF Hakkeeh!, uit tot één van de boegbeelden van de gabberscene. Nu, bijna dertig jaar later, hebben wij hem in de podcast. En daar zijn we ongelofelijk trots op. Het is een podiumbeest, een liefhebber, een vader, een strijder en bovenal een man die van zijn hart geen moordkuil maakt. Wij zijn in deze aflevering te gast bij niemand minder dan MC The Mouth of Madness die we de komende uren gewoon Sietse van Daalen mogen noemen.

Dj Dione started spinning in the late 1980s in a youth center, but soon decided to give house parties in the Bubbles in Lelystad. Here he played at many parties and started with a radio program at a local radio station.

After a while he also started making music himself and his first productions came out with rams horn/fifth gear, where he appeared on more than 50 (!) CDs in a short time.

Through his radio work he ended up at New Dance Radio, where he presented the (award-winning) program "Hakkeuh", the most popular Dutch hardcore program.

In the meantime he made the switch to ID&T as a producer, for whom he also played at the big parties (Mysteryland, Thunderdome, Earthquake, etc.). For them he made famous songs like: Ready 2 rumble, The Atac, Darkness & Brightness and 1 beat 2 heaven.

He also teamed up with the Solid Rocket Boosters, a VJ team, with whom he played hardcore at unique locations, such as museums and galleries in Finland, Latvia and Estonia, among others.

Nowadays he produces for Megarave and DNA records, for whom he made hits like : Oh God, Sick Confusing M.F.s,Liquid Super D,Just Kickin Ass and of course Pain Til I Die .

As a DJ he can be heard at many parties around the world, from the U.S. to Italy, and he performed at major parties such as: Goliath, Energy, Megarave, Hardcore Nation and Hellraiser.

For this mix I chose for some more slow and much older tunes and some personal favourites. A lot of them i actually never play in sets (Just in my private listening sessions at home and such)
I personally think these tunes define the very essence of what hardcore represents, as this beautiful music is not simply just some FAST noise. It actually has a SOUL!

Put this mix on from start to finish without interruption and let me take you onto a JOURNEY. At the end of the mix you will understand my love for this music AND why diversity makes this music so great and needed!

Some tunes sometimes just don't fit in my sets, but i felt like bringing back some of these tunes in this special mix to reflect the vibe and possibilities of that era and music style. The era when rules where...non existent.

I have added some extra information behind the tunes where needed, like for instance the alias or version information. Just for those who are curious for knowledge ;)

I hope this little mix takes you back to those days again, and put a smile on your face at the same time.

This time I did a 80’s & 90’S mix (CHEESY BEATZ) with tracks you Love and Hate. I would like to take you back to the days when you had no mobile phone and still was free to go outside and did not had to worry about anything.  This mix contains everything from Electro pop, Hip Pop, Italo, Top 40 & Eurodance.
