DJ Promo or also Promo, pseudonym of Sebastian Hoff, is a Dutch DJ and label owner. He mainly produces hardcore and industrial hardcore. He is considered one of the most prominent and progressive hardcore DJs and producers in the Netherlands.

DJ Promo started around 1992 as a DJ. Back then he played at smaller gabber parties and because he didn't have a permanent place, he also organized his own hardcore parties. At those parties, which took place in community centers and sports halls, the then more famous DJs from the genre also came. When he also started producing around 1995, he became more noticeable to the public. His first hit dates back to the gabber era: his gabber version of Don't Speak by No Doubt became a success.

When the movement disappeared at the end of the nineties due to overkill and commercial parodies of gabber music, Promo continued to produce. This resulted in the 'Promo File' series, which he first released under the ID&T label. The 'Promo Files' were at the root of a change in the sound of hardcore music. Characteristic was the slower tempo but kicks that were harder. In 2000 he started his own label, The Third Movement, together with colleague X-ess.

In 2003 Promo got the chance to show his modern hardcore at Q-dance's hardstyle party "Qlimax". However, a few days before the party, Promo decided not to play after Q-dance only gave him 30 minutes and also asked if he didn't want to play hard. The following year, Promo was asked to shut down Sensation Black.

In 2004 X-ess and Catscan left, giving DJ Promo complete freedom. He came up with his alias Rude Awakening (industrial, experimental hardcore/techno/electro) and he set up a booking agency, where almost all major hardcore artists are affiliated. He also brought a number of sub-labels where he gave fellow artists (Tommy Pulse and Lady Dana) the opportunity to release their music.

Patrick van Kerckhoven (born 1970, alias DJ Ruffneck is a darkcore or gabber DJ and producer, originating from Alblasserdam, Netherlands. An active DJ since 1985, Kerckhoven has also been involved with various record labels. In 1989, he and Jayant Edoo formed 80 Aum Records. When that closed in 1991, he went on to form Ruffneck Records and its imprints Ruffex and Ruff Intelligenze.

After a disagreement with parent label XSV Music, Kerckhoven formed Gangsta Audiovisuals and its imprint Supreme Intelligence, then in 2001, Kerckhoven also closed these and moved all artists to Enzyme Records. Enzyme has three imprints: Enzyme K7, Enzyme VIP and Enzyme X. JUGGERNAUT, another pseudonym of van Kerckhoven during his Ruffneck years, has released a single, "Ruffneck rules da artcore scene!!!", borrowing the melody of In the Hall of the Mountain King, which reached eight in the Dutch top 40 in 1997 ("Dutch Top 40 archive".

His latest imprint is called Tainted Audio and was formed to fulfill his desire to keep on experimenting with drum and bass influenced underground hardcore music.

Hardcore DJ, producer and label boss Patrick van Kerckhoven has been in the hardcore scene for over thirty years. 'It turns out that many techno and electro artists from all walks of life are very much inspired by the old hardcore scene. I'm also working on hard techno myself and I notice that it's a bit of familiar territory here and there.' In the DJ Shortlist he goes all the way, from neo-soul and soundcloud rap to hardcore and rock-hard techno.'

Amsterdam born and raised DJ Predator, a.k.a. Stephan Scheltema, had to deal with a creative mind all his life. Lost in graffiti art during his childhood, he became intrigued by early Rap music, Breakbeats, Reggae and Electro. The purchase of a Commodore Amiga in 1991, provided him with the means to experiment with beats and breaks himself. Influenced by his love for music and driven by the the rage of a young boy, he established his first release on vinyl in 1992. Over a period of six years, he managed to release more than sixty tracks, most of them on labels such as Mokum, Ruffneck, Ruff EX, Cenobite and H2Oh. With the growth of the dance scene in general, Predator's star was rising, providing him with more equipment and possibilities.

Living his dream of expressing his musical thoughts on recordings and spending all his time and money and on his studio. Hit releases like Jiiieehaaaa, Pump The Vibe and Mind Of A Lunatic brought him recognition from around the globe, resulting in live performances and DJ bookings worldwide, from Canada to Australia, from Russia to the United States, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, the U.K. and more.

Slowly but surely maturing his natural love for Hiphop and Breaks, these musical styles started to sneak into his productions. Although still using a steady beat, he more and more found himself applying sophisticated drum patterns to his tracks, giving them more funk and more speed. In 1998, longing for a new creative challenge, he wanted to present his dark, claustrophobic atmospheres to the Drum n Bass scene. The shift immediately proved to be a success. As Dutch imprints A New Dawn and Acetate Recordings were securing Predator's singles, U.K. labels such as 5HQ / Formation and Renegade Hardware were quickly snatching up pairs of their own. In 2001, he joined one of the most prestigious Dutch crews named Bassground and was voted best Dutch Drum n Bass producer in 2002. In 2005 He joined the Most Wanted DJ Agency and focussed more on Hardcore music, joining the mighty Masters of Hardcore label and combining Drum and Bass and Hardcore resulted in a very unique track called The Switch (feat. Angerfist) Tracks like Demon Pit, Addicted 2 Violence (feat. Hellsystem) and Legend (feat. Angerfist) showed once again why Predator is one of the pioneers of the Hardcore scene.

While developing new Hardcore and Drum n Bass tracks, Predator has his sights set on the future, so be on the look out as he is determined to come correct across the board.
