"Everybody In is thrilled to start 2022 in dark mode with the sounds by St. Petersburg artist Alexey Sergeevich a.k.a. Nightdrive and his new EP ‘Inamoto’. Alexey graduated in accordion and moved into producing relatively recently in 2015. He has been particularly active in producing several dozen releases, cassettes and vinyl records for many labels worldwide.

The opener ‘Inamoto’ is a micro-house experiment that drives you into the 80's synth-pop era and goes even further, phasing patterns and melodic minimalism. Its resonant computer drums propel into the action of organic expressionism, rising into flight from its dusty origins.

‘Ray’ was born as a solo pad exercise, then evolved as a tech-house track. A beam piercing the clouds, imbuing an analog static with a synthetic expansive ambient sound.

The Ep closer ‘Arps’ is a techno banger doing much more, a transcontinental flight, a track that takes us to Manchester’s old-school rave parties on the outskirts of the capitals.

Following Anna Gram's Celestial Objects EP last summer, Hammer's Remmah label dips once again into the Glasgow talent pool to present a debut release from another of its most exciting resident DJs, in collaboration with a seasoned veteran of the UK techno scene.

A name sharply on the rise, Stevie Cox recently joined legends Harri, Domenic & Telford at as resident of the club’s flagship Saturday night party, Subculture - the longest running underground weekly house night in the world.

Operating under the guises of Fossil Archive and Roberto, Robert Kirkaldy has cemented himself as a trusted name over the years; building up an impressive discography that never wavers in quality, while playing regularly at some of the most respected clubs around the world, including fabric, Berghain and Tresor.

After meeting in Summer 2021, it quickly became apparent that the pair shared a strong musical connection which effortlessly translated itself into production. A debut release for Stevie and adding to Rob’s amazing catalogue; the Daydreamer EP is a club-ready, emotionally rich four-tracker.

The Daydreamer EP opens with 'Stolen Glances' - a deep, tunnely, dub techno-esque number that pairs soft, spacey effects with punchy drums. Next is 'Searching' - full of tension and dark, acid breaks inspired by the pair’s love for drum & bass, lifted by ethereal vocals from Kiara Scuro’s ZaaZaa. 'Daydreamer' is a hypnotic, feel-good heater that sounds like it was made to be played at the legendary Sub Club in Glasgow on a Saturday night. The EP closes off with a dreamy, stripped back DJ tool edit of 'Daydreamer' which is sleepy by name and nature.

Ruby Goon initially came into contact with Phantasy courtesy of the music of Connan Mockasin, an influence on Solimani-Leznhev, and certainly 'Brand New Power' reconnects Erol Alkan’s imprint with a specific strain of outsider music. Next up in our Premiere series we have Running Back head honcho Gerd Janson remixing Neapolitan producer Partenope, who takes a strong influence from the likes of Underground Resistance, for a deep cut on the Neapolis label. 

Partenope certainly wears a big Underground Resistance influence on his sleeve in the case of 'Odysseia' - it's even mentioned in the press release, and we're not going to argue either.   But it's no bad thing, especially as it's a general love of the soulful, uplifting, musical end of the techno scale rather than a creative plunder of any UR track in particular.  The label has pulled out the big guns with a Gerd Janson remix to accompany it too, and Janson certainly delivers with his warm production bringing out the best via three way acid trance techno hybrid.

On the occasion of this hundredth release "BOXON MAKES ME SUNNY" from Boxon Records, the boss of the label, Julien Minet, wanted to bring together on the same compilation tracks that smell good of the sun.

After the success of the four compilations released previously, Boxon this time turned to international producers (Belgium, France, Italy, South Africa, Hong Kong) not yet signed to the label (De Gama, Mebara Sao, Hallex M, etc.) as well as to relatives or artists already known to the house (Lois fr and Fruckie, Lithium, etc.).
Jamais2 opens the tracklist with their composition “Mangrove” perfect as an intro. Dj Soso then joins forces with Team Complex and Thabo Gallano to create "Ishe Wemakiyi", a sweet Afro-House title already dancing. Belgian artist Mebara Sao continues to make our bodies ripple with "Douala", full of percussion, exotic synths and precisely placed female vocals. Then it's the turn of the funky De Gama to heat up the dancefloor with the superb "Tropical Boogie", a title rich in Afro and Latin sounds. The Bordelais Lithium continues with “Soul Africa” which, embellished with joyful vocals, remains just as percussive and catchy! De Gama returns with “Cosmic Safari” and its Dub sounds, a real journey of more than 13 minutes honoring the Disco-House with, as guides, elegant funky brass instruments. Accompanied by Manashe Music / Uthando / Ulethu, and again by Team Complex, Dj Soso gives us a warm and full of love, resolutely summery title: "Summer Love". Label buddies Lois fr and Fruckie have won their bet by composing “Zambia”, more Club oriented with its analog instruments and soaring vocals! Just as dedicated to the dancefloor, “City of Birds” by Fab From Toulouse takes us to the heart of Africa with its lyrics responding wonderfully against a background of sunny groove. Hallex M then arrives with his efficient production "Okap" mixing Tech-House beats and Afro sounds. Nnuspaper brings the tempo back down a bit by delivering "Yanahéou" in a Dub and groovy spirit. Then it's the turn of Tim'so from Bordeaux to take us into Trance with "The Wall of Happiness", a more minimal but just as convincing piece. Also a little trancy, “Sway” by artist Jykso sounds good Deep and its melody is rather intoxicating. This compilation finally closes with the title "Waza" whose frank percussions and groove do not fail to leave us indifferent.

WE ENCLOSE THIS RECORDING, WHICH FEATURES THE KIND OF TRIBALISTIC, DELAY-LADEN DRUMS, SWELLING ELECTRONICS AND EXOTIC MELODIC REFRAINS THAT ARE KNOWN TO INSPIRE FRENZIED DANCING IN MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC. WE HAVE CHRISTENED THIS RECORDING “DRAGON WAVE”.

AFTER EXITING THE WATER, DAZION PACKED UP HIS TOP-SECRET WINDSURFING TECHNOLOGY AND DROVE TO A BACKSTREET ADDRESS IN A QUIET AREA OF AMSTERDAM. THERE, IN A LIGHT INDUSTRIAL UNIT, HE CONTINUED TO TINKER WITH THE TECHNOLOGY, TESTING IT OUT BY BROADCASTING ANOTHER MUSICAL COMPOSITION. THIS WAS MORE POIGNANT AND MELANCHOLIC IN TONE, UTILISING SPAACEY ELECTRONIC MELODIES, GENTLY BOBBING CHORDS, HEART-ACHING GUITAR FLOURISHES AND A TOUGH BUT BROKEN RHYTHM TRACK. THE RECORDING – CODE NAME “VX LTD” – HAD A HUGE IMPACT ON US EMOTIONALLY AND EVEN REDUCED ONE OPERATIVE TO TEARS.

IT IS OUR BELIEF THAT THE SAFE TRIP ORGANISATION WILL ONLY INCREASE IN STRENGTH WITH DAZION’S INVOLVEMENT. WE RECOMMEND WATCHING THE WAVES AND WINDS INTENTLY FOR FURTHER DEVELOPMENTS.

"When writing ‘Harder Rhythm’ I was drawing from the two very connected basic primal instincts of sexual attraction and our instilled affinity with rhythm,” Gabe explains. “It's a straight up celebration of both and the associated feelings of euphoria and tension. A love for the very first drum machine beat I ever heard on Michael Jackson's 'Wanna be startin' somethin' definitely made its way in”

If you want to know what Gabe Gurnsey’s debut LP sounds like, the first thing you should do is put aside Factory Floor, the group he co-founded 13 years ago. Gone are the cold, lengthy, stripped back deconstructions of no wave electronica and industrial techno, abandoned in favour of something altogether warmer, torrid and succinct.

And that new sound - a 21st Century take on muscular electro, Balearic synth pop, EBM, proto-Hacienda militant funk, early Chicago house and minimal, Neptunes-referencing beats - can be experienced in full on Physical. Encoded into the album is a seductive narrative, which recreates a night out

“It’s a real departure from Factory Floor” he says. “What I wanted to get into with Physical had more to do with exploring songwriting and structure. The album is very escapist in one sense even though I don’t want to escape from Factory Floor but what I do on my own has to be separate and it has to explore new avenues.”
