It was in 2014 when a mutual friend introduced me to Victor Ruiz while he was staying here in Berlin. I invited Victor to my studio where we had a fantastic session, playing our music to each other, listening to stuff we like and simply talkin and connecting. Since then, we became close friends as well as starting to work together. Victor has released two outstanding EPs on Electric Ballroom by now. This summer we met again and recorded three tracks. The result is our first joint EP, of which I am very proud. (Thomas Schumacher, November 2015)

Remember when you were just children, trying to build something out of a pile of Lego bricks, and how there was always one annoying brick missing? So often we get the same feeling coming across big compilations: the attempt to remain faithful to a genre or to a label's flavour sets unnecessary borders to a world that should remain borderless. This is exactly the strength of Noferini's compilation: from warmup pieces to peak-time hammers, from accelerating machines to after-hour goodies, from deep to tech, from vocal to techno, all tracks carry the famous Deeperfect signature. Punchy kicks, dominant synths and motivating percussions.

"When Octo Octa sent us the demos for her first full-length record since 2013, we were floored by how many tracks were single worthy. But, there was one that stood out as something entirely on its own, a song that in many ways sounded like nothing Maya had ever released. Since the beginning, we always knew we wanted to do something special with "Adrift," the 8+ minute space-age synth-dub techno tune. When we asked Maya about doing a 12" with remixes we were blindsided to learn she has NEVER had any of her music remixed before. Following on from the huge success of their last release together; Sirens, Mark Jenkyns is back under the Hot Creations umbrella alongside his longtime collaborator Mizbee. Allow us to introduce Soulfood EP. The four track release also features a vocal appearance from profound lyricist Sheff and a remix by tech house virtuoso Inxec.

Typical of Hot Creations, Jenkyns opens the EP with a dynamic beat. Questions feat. Sheff is a funky, fierce anthem brimming with catchy melodies and arousing vocals. Relish in Northern singer/songwriter Mizbee's charming vocals as she guides us through the bustling second track; Soulfood. There's something about Mizbee and her stunning voice, encased in a compelling bassline and jazzy piano tunes, her pleasing lyrics flow throughout Heated. Inxec brings his special touch to his Questions Remix, a lively take on the original, complete with resounding horns and a mid-way vocal breakdown.

When asked about the EP Jenkyns remarked: "I feel this EP is food for the soul, it has something for everyone, grooves a plenty and jam packed full of great vibes!", and what a delicious meal it is. 2018 is set to be an exciting year for Newcastle-born Jenkyns, with an array of tracks set to be released this year on the likes of Desert Hearts, VIVa, Cajual and Resonance Records. Fellow Geordie Mizbee has an exciting year as she puts the finishing touches to her highly anticipated first album. Sheff, hailing from the Midlands has had a pious musical career beginning as an editor before finding his calling in electronic music. Remixer Inxec boasts support from some of the scene's biggest names including Sasha, Lee Burridge and Craig Richards.

Yeah But No from Berlin released their self-titled debut album in November, accompanied by a couple of singles and EPs. After touring on their own and as support for Sylvan Esso and Zoot Woman, another extensive tour segment is due to begin in the May 2018.

Merging electronic music with classic song structures into a smart and captivating listening enjoyment. That's Yeah But No's objective. The duo from Berlin is comprised of techno producer Douglas Greed and singer Fabian Kuss. The former made a name for himself in the techno scene and recently released an album together with Mooryc with their mutual project Eating Snow. 

The two get to know each other four years ago when Greed was looking for a singer for his tracks. Tasteful success label Freude am Tanzen releases his music during that time and he tours through Europe, plays in Mexico and Australia. In Fabian Kuss he finds the matching counterpart. Not only has he studied voice but also stood on stages all across the country and explored musical styles from jazz to funk and pop with his bands. 

Now Yeah But No announce the release of "Remixes I", one of two EPs containing contributions by friends made along the way, and artists Yeah But No became friends and fans of. Karmon (Diynamic), Daniel Brandt (Erased Tapes, Brandt Brauer Frick etc.), Marc Holstege (Stil vor Talent), Panthera Krause (Uncanny Valley, Riotvan, ORS etc.), and Mudaze (Beast Entertainment) promise a good round of tasteful listening pleasure.

Yeah But No are currently working on the tracks of their second album, which will be released in November 2018
