Messing around blending 8-bit crushed beats with fluid grooves and a live bass guitar from the late-great Rob Greene (RIP, brother)

5am Comedown (demo)

Just a demo messing around with a vintage Tascam 424MkII 4-track recorder figuring out how it works. Made 100% with vinyl samples and a couple pedals. No VSTs, No Plug-ins, No digital FX.  All tracks recorded directly to an old-school TDK Type II Cassette - and then once fully mixed, re-digitized via Cubase as a straight stereo record with NO processing.

Exploring two different songs that have a lot in common. "You'd be so nice to come home to" by Cole Porter  and "Manha de Carnaval" by Luiz Bonfa. Samples of Carnival come from the Herbie Mann rendition.
