Gimme gimme gimme gimme Gimme That La Croix. This Denver dance pop duo, obsessed with sparkling water, just hit us with a super-soaker glam beat about everyone’s favorite sugar-free treat, LaCroix. Musical group Bun Bun is one part Reed Fox, one part Snarklet, and together they create electronic comedic instructional dance music. Following their singles “Urban Bee” and “We Love To Hack”, Bun Bun takes on a new tone of admiration in an ode to their favorite zero-calorie beverage.

Why did they write a song about LaCroix? Was it for love? Well…

“We began to understand early on that our LaCroix habit would soon be too expensive to keep up - unless we wrote a song about it. There are just too many uses for sparkling water. You can drink it, you can gargle it. You can wash your hair with it! All of this is to say, it’s gotten more and more difficult to say no to a glass of innocent LaCroix! So we made a song for it,” Bun Bun tells us at Moon Magnet Studios, “Our goal was simple - write a song equally as irresistible as LaCroix sparkling water. Then, they’ll have to notice!”

“I started cutting my gasoline with La Croix when prices went up recently,” singer and synther, Snarklet explains, unprompted. “It truly is a one-of-a-kind elixir. I sure hope I get to drink a La Croix tonight!”

Snarklet and Reed Fox have been drinking LaCroix naturally essenced sparkling water every day for the past two and a half years. The original inspiration for the song came from the sheer delight in tasting LaCroix’s Key Lime flavor for the first time.

“I really didn’t think I would like it, after trying the Lime flavor and all. It’s not bad or anything - Cranberry really is the worst of the flavors, but Lime is just sort of… disappointing. But when Reed persuaded me to try the Key Lime, it was like a new world of gratitude opened up inside of me, and the lyrics just came fumbling out,” Snarklet recalls.

“The beat and the drops were all inspired by that moment. It was like God was speaking through my hands, clicking and dragging each 808 into place. The risers, the kicks, the barks, the claps - they all had a purpose, you know?” Reed Fox adds, “We really can’t thank anyone but LaCroix for opening up the channel. Without them, we never would have made it this far. We don’t know anyone who works there yet, but we love them and think about them often.”

Along with this love song, Bun Bun has also decided to make a video for their future friends at LaCroix - out on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook on August 19th, 2021. 

“We just want to thank LaCroix for getting us so far,” Bun Bun said, Snarklet stifling a tear, and Reed patting her shoulder gently, “We truly can’t wait for them to call us soon, asking if they can sponsor us. When we talk, it will be like talking with an old friend, or a cousin, or even an earlier or later reincarnation of ourselves. Who knows what will happen!”
