It's been 10 years since their last release on 20/20 Vision, but it is with great excitement that we welcome Spirit Catcher back to the label with their aptly named Blast From The Past EP!

As one of the corner stones of 20/20, their early singles and album are legendary label artefacts and these guys were total pioneers of the cosmic, disco infused house sound which then became prominent in following years.

Blast From The Past has been getting heavy rotation in Ralph Lawson's sets over the summer and so we're really glad to finally see it reach the light of day. This one is a trip into hyperspace with cosmic synth pulses leading the way before a killer bass line takes you track straight to planet Spirit Catcher!

On the flip Closer takes the trip further with more expert bass hooks being joined by vox pads and otherwordly fx. The EP is finished off with Routing Madness, a homeage to the duos love for analogue studio gear which you can hear in the intricate synth patterns which pop and weave through the tracks duration.

This latest two-tracker has a more familiar deep house blueprint. “I found that the experimentation I played with on my previous two releases has given me the confidence to introduce more creative flare or create musical moments within this style” says Anja.

‘Turning My Head’ is built on a low-slung tribal rhythm. There is a deep, growling bass that provides a contrast with the classic spoken vocal and dancing flute tones. “I wanted to create a slow burning progression in the track that evokes the humid thumping heartbeat of late-night energy charged dark rooms which I have missed so much these past 9 months” adds Anja.

‘Strange Case’ is a jacked-up deep house track with differently instrumented phases that use sounds that stand out like the enchanted plucked strings or the harmonic steel drum reverberations.

Anja Schneider - Turning My Head

Gabriel Marchisio's music has received a positive reception within the electronic music scene, especially in the techno and deep house genres. Although not considered a mainstream name in global electronic music, Marchisio has established himself as a respected DJ and producer in Latin America. He has had a major impact on the Uruguayan scene and has spread his influence to other countries in the region, where he is recognized for his unique style, which combines powerful beats with deep, immersive atmospheres.

Marchisio has been very active in local and international clubs and festivals, and has managed to garner a loyal fan base thanks to his live sets, which often stand out for their ability to connect emotionally with the audience. Although his popularity is not massive in terms of global audiences, within underground and niche electronic music circles, he is considered a relevant and high-quality artist.

He has also worked in the production of tracks and remixes, gaining recognition on digital music platforms and in the specialized DJ scene. His music has been supported by other DJs and has appeared on compilations and renowned record labels.

In short, Gabriel Marchisio's music can be considered successful within the independent and underground electronic music scene, especially in Latin America, where he has cultivated a solid reputation.
