The popular Spanish folk song "La Tarara" treated as a set of theme and short variations in a musical language that mixes elements of impressionism and jazz.

The theme is first presented with utmost clarity, accompanied by a simple alternate harmony, as Bach did with the Aria of the Goldberg Variations; then each variation gradually proceeds to dissolve actual theme, to the point that the theme becomes a ghost, just a musical essence.
