Soo, this is my first tune that I compose in 432Hz...I have been aware since last year of all that controversy about tuning 'A' in 440Hz or 432hz; me, being a composer and a piano player, can definitely tell the difference between 440 and 432... so I decided to give 432Hz a try...I have to admit, now that I've been listening to my compositions in 432hz there is no coming back for me! This particular melody is very special not only because of the harmonious 432Hz tuning, but also because I feel that the melody is inviting me to become part of the New Cosmic Dawn... I hope you like it as much as I do! Enjoy ;)

A New Dawn

This composition is the final version of the 'first' track of my upcoming piano album. This year I changed the tuning of my virtual piano  (Pianoteq5) from 440Hz  to 432Hz 'A' pitch. This whole new tuning 'thing' also changed me; it 'tuned' me, making me  'feel'  the music in a whole and exciting different way....hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do...

This is one of my most played piano composition here in SC. Originally it was recorded using a tuning of 'A' at 440 Hz.  But given that I have been playing for the last 2 years in 432 Hz, I decided to make this version...at the end, the key is on the ear of the beholder...and 432 shows you the key to the universe of numbers and harmony...

I composed the melody of this tune a long time ago, perhaps 5 years ago when I was still living in Guatemala; by that time, I did not know all the jazz and blues chords I know today (thanks to my music theory teacher) although, the color of the melody had showed something that captured me ever since that day...it was mysterious....This year, I decided to do some variations around the key, and just like in my album, I guess I could call it a conceptual tune, given that each variation tells a completely different story of the dream...the type of stories that can only happen in a dream....in this case, a surreal one (you could say)...I guess I could call this composition something like a modern neo-classical progressive concert...a musical experiment....

This particular piece is the only one among the album 'A Bunch of Stars A Bunch of Stories' that was improvised during the recording. I knew this one was going to be the first piece, the introduction, but I never really had an idea of how it was going to finish or how long it was going to be...the whole piece revolves around the key of F major...I probably played it like 25 times during a day, each time different, trying different combinations and at the end I decided for this version...Honestly, I was surprised with the result....I guess that is the beauty of improvising....

Hi everyone, my name is Gabriel Ruata, born and raised in Guatemala City, Guatemala, a small country located in the northern part of Central America. Ever since I was a kid, I loved classical music and always felt a special connection with any kind of musical expression. It seems, somehow, that there was some kind of rhythm in my soul that made me feel music in a special way. 

From among all the musical instruments at my disposition, there was something about the piano that called to me, maybe it was the smell of the wood, maybe it was the beautiful marble keys, maybe it was Chopin or Beethoven calling me, I did not know by then, but there was something mesmerizing about it. That’s why I started playing the piano at age 11; I enrolled in music classes and kept at it for 6 years, after that, I figured it was time I started experimenting with music on my own.

I graduated from school in 2003 and enrolled in Law School after that. After almost 7 years of studying law and finally becoming a lawyer, I decided it was the perfect time to pursue my dream: becoming a music composer, a musician, and an artist.

I studied Music Production and Audio Engineering at Harbourside Institute of Technology in North Vancouver, Canada in 2011; after I graduated from the program, I decided it was time to start doing something more concrete than just individual tunes, so I embarked in the adventure of making a music album.
