Pascal Feos Tribute Set

I recorded this set on a tribute to Pascal FEOS Party, been playing my selection of Pascal's own productions, and once more I'm astonished how fresh and timeless his music still sounds. His top notch state of the art skills in production and experienced DJing are reflected in his taste and creative choices one can hear in his always soulful TechnoHouse music, balancing the influences of Chicago House and Detroit Techno into his very own signature of sound. 

Eternally thankful to Pascal for his caring Greek hospitality and having shared his know-how, I learned a lot from him in countless studio sessions, and also no words for his ongoing support, for example with his excellent remixes he did, his always honest feedback on my music, mastering my early tunes and expanding my sense for studio environments.

‘ I Can Feel That’ presence and energy, 
he is ‘Still Here’ in his music, gone but not forgotten.

Best of all, Gabriel knows how to make his machines *rock*: “We R1” has a great, lumbering gait and rubbery bass line that makes the air literally molten around it. We can always use more of Le Mar’s praxis groove thang.

Somewhere along the line, Gabriel le Mar went off on one. Evident on his previous two albums Gab's Lab and Gab's Gift, he found a style all of his own, and always seemed a bit like the quiet kid in class silently plotting to take over the world. Hear And Now comes after a 2 year break, and its an incredibly fresh-sounding techno-trance experimental hybrid, drawing in influences from world music, electro, ambient and all with a heavy dose of live instruments. Experience The Lightness is a wonderfully restrained opener, while In Some Other's Life picks up the pace with a housey, dance-all-night vibe. Machine Karma, as its name suggests, is a tricky fusion between old and new, featuring live didgeridoo over staccato techno rhythms, and Right From The Heart is a catchy leftfield/electro number featuring German singer and producer George DIN. Le Mar's more reflective, experimental and spiritual side is prevalent on Find A Passage To India, and on two sublime tracks featuring a host of Indian musicians, Journey To Eurasia and Hear And Now. The dubby worldstomper vibe of Travelogue is a delight, and with the semi-chilled, semi-breakbeat bliss of Into Deep, this is an album of depth and intricacy which is geared less to the dancefloor and more to your lounge, beach spaceship or hammock.

Between Dub, Downbeat, Ambient, Trance and Techno in a most pleasant way.
Gabriel Le Mar effectively meld elements of lucid soundscapes and blissful themes on his first solo album Gab's Lab.

In the 90s, Gabriel Le Mar was cast with his project Aural Float as artistic director of „Space Night“, a TV feature based on astronomical images and floating soundscapes which would keep young nightwatchers awake for much too long upon returning home from already far too long nights at the pubs and clubs. So Gabriel obviously knows how to build long, sustained musical dramaturgies – the series, just as an aside, has probably done more for widespread interest in and, more importantly, respect for electronic music than any other format in Germany.

The album opener "Regenerative" is a deep ridin' tune driven by its deep mood and catchy guitar riffs while "Imagination Creates" hypnotically moves through dub chord driven spaces and unfolds its moving in depth groove. "The Living Green" takes us on a trip into melodic synth patterns that find their counterpart in the electric pad like guitars. "Wisdom of Resistance" carries echoes throught the magic mystical forest in an epic but deep and patient arrangement while "Electric Leaves" is tripping through a mysteriously harmonic soundspace. "Days In The Tree" follows the same path continuing that special atmosphere dipped with indian sounds which leads to "Network Of Life": a smooth moving Tech track that Gabriel Le Mar created in collaboration together with young new artist Joey K. "Outside Of Time" rounds up the album with a smooth deep shuffling beat an intense synth and ebow touched singing guitar moods. Sounds that don't exist in nature but they create an atmosphere of tender closeness to the trees.
