Bird Track - V1

I used mostly clips in Ableton Live and added some simple chords and bird sound in the background to create this track. Setting the tempo at 60 bpm changes the entire direction of the song. 

Enchanted Forest

I started this track on the day we had a lot of snow in Vancouver. The feeling of isolation and tranquility when watching the snow fall had inspired me to write. When I revisited this piece recently and added more parts, I began to imagine Canada geese taking flights in the snow, therefore I added the goose samples.

Take Flight

My first time using strings in my composition. I started off using MIDI strings in Ableton, then I swapped them with the ones in BBC Symphony Orchestra, which is a free plugin from Spitfire Audio recommended by a fellow classmate. I still wanted to continue with my bird concept so I added some American Robin samples to my track.

The Robin at Dawn

This piece was inspired by my most recent vacation in Cuba. We were sitting in an open-air lobby at our resort casually sipping mojitos, while listening to instrumentals being played through the hotel PA and a group of grackles having conversations with each other in the background. The moment was purely mesmerizing and I hope to recreate that experience in my music.
