Born in Africa Gabriel Russell has spent his life delighting in music. The beginning of his musical journey can be traced back to Gabriel’s earliest experiences. At young age, deeply inspired and encouraged by his parents, he began to sing tirelessly, writing poems and stories on the spot and setting them to music. His ability to express himself through both song and the written word strengthened the bond between the members of his tight-knit family as they gathered around to sing together.
Because the church was always a pivotal force in his family’s life, he began to avidly share his gifts with his congregation and singing with the choir, all the while organically building a diverse musical foundation at home through the songs of beloved musical icons. As Gabriel built his foundation through song, he quickly developed a profound fascination for sound and audio engineering and production which characterizes the core principles of his writing and musical repertoire. Moving to Australia, Slowly Gabriel began to cultivate his sound, Producing/Singing/Songwriting for Australia’s and New Zealand’s finest artists.
In Gabriel’s words, “To be able to do something from the depth of my spirit is like a wonderful sharing that I cannot put into words. A smile, applause singing along, someone saying how good I made them feel makes everything worthwhile. These experiences are gratifying to me as an artist and performer and because I know I am helping someone else connect to their emotions in a positive way. I always said I wanted to use my talents to see God’s great earth, and so I am. More Than Words is his debut solo album. He will release Stay or Leave as first single.
