 "Some Perfect Place" is the first project from Lake Allison Films, a 30-minute short about a college student suffering from extreme anxiety, who meets a girl he badly wants to date. He does his best, but his issues get in the way and she must decide how to react. Some Perfect Place was shot in locations around Corvallis including the OSU campus with an all-volunteer cast and crew. Features original music by Gabriel Surley and Unstable Atmospheres.

His most recent album ( the Power of Zero) is currently in production. The Power of Zero is an introduction to Gabriel’s world, sampling songs from the next 5 albums he has set to release over the next few years. 

A born story-teller and self-described “epiphany addict” Gabriel discovered his talent and connection to music at the age of 16 when he first picked up a guitar. Playing professionally since 1999 he has been employed in the music industry as a recording engineer, creative director and musician. He is the founder of the band “Unstable Atmospheres” and he performs with the band or solo. In a ten year span Gabriel Surley has released 10 albums in limited quantities. He is currently in the studio for his latest album ( The Power of Zero. ) He took his last album “Metamorphosis” on a West Coast tour in 2011. The tour spanned from Seattle Washington to San Diego, California. 

Growing up in central Texas Gabriel left home at the early age of 14. He related to the punk rock culture and bands such as Black Flag, Fugazi and Social Distortion.  Once he was introduced to ways that could expand his mind, he quickly abandoned the fast angry approach to music.  Branching out from what was acceptable by his peers he opened his influences to a much broader spectrum.  He began listening to Roger Waters, Peter Gabriel, Depeche Mode, NIN, the Cure, Tracy Chapman, Cat Stevens and Beck. Stylistically his playing changed dramatically in the span of a few years. Using warm dynamic rhythms and beats that bring people to dance and express themselves is a driving focus of his music. Percussive guitar playing and fingerstyle picking are two very defining features.. Lyrical complexity that deepens with each listening, a story telling vibe and emotionally driven vocals and instrumentation make his music impossible to ignore.  With a reputation of that of a genuine creator he is often described as a poet, visionary and an authentic expressionist.  He is the genuine article. Gabriel Surley’s music gives you ways to express how you feel and will quickly become the soundtrack to your life.
