In wonderful Thüringia (Berlach /Gotha)  a group of culture enthusiasts under the radar of the standard PR circus, every year run a festival way out in the sticks for 3 days. This is the “Cucuma” festival. Here there is enjoyment of art and culture in a kind of Utopia island. Embedded in scenic nature with a love of detail, an open audience and artists who swing together in a way that you don't see everywhere. 

Metaboman, one half of the Krause Duo, is jamming since forever at this place. Found at times with the booked musicians  (either DJ Kajak, with partner Krause, or as live act) and artistic chums.
All four tracks are based on Metaboman's live sound; a shadow-dance theater performance which he performed at the 2014 festival.

In the EP “Cucmagic” there lives the spirit of this prime piece of earth under swaying poplars. A homage to a status of deep sensitivity & happiness. When the final heap of sonics is rendered still, the next summer, which one can hardly wait on is already being longed for. If you have already experienced the DNA from Metaboman's brand of sonic gymnastics, then you are already with him. For a long time his music has been aimed at the offloading your rear-end, as opposed to stretched out arms and hands. As well, here is a deeply compelling groove with a jazzy vibe and smoke blasts that sometimes more, sometimes less alternate the sunshine with shimmering.

After a busy Spring with the launch of her Neverwhere Radio show, new tracks on Get Physical and mixing their latest Full Body Workout compilation, CAMEA sets the stage for summer with her next Bpitch Control installment. This will be CAMEA‘s third solo release on Ellen Allien’s imprint, following up her highly acclaimed ‘City Watch Over Me’ and ‘Neverwhere’ singles, as well as a vinyl only remix project featuring Deadbeat, Locked Groove and Lee Jones. Now the Seattle-born artist and Berlin resident contributes a great three-track collection for her new single titled, ’The Hallway’, out in vinyl and digital format.
In this selection, CAMEA continues to lay the foundation for her experimental combination of deep house and tech- no with a collection of three mind-bending pieces. The A side track, Wormhole, is a peak time techno space burner for the main stage, while the B-side goes deeper with two kaleidoscopic tech house tunes. The titled track, ‚The Hallway’, is a psychotropic and funky descent, layered with trippy vocals and spaced-out melodies, all connected by an irresistibly towering peak. Finally, ‘Orchestra of Dreams’ concludes her release with a harmonious and passionate dance ballad, rippling it’s way in and out of FM synthesis and orchestral harmonies for an eerie and elegant piece. CAMEA’s sound and ideas speak loudly on this release, sharing with us another part of her journey and adding ano- ther essential piece to her discography and the Bpitch archive.

Lately i have been buying a lot of vinyl, going through my thousands of old vinyl digging out good old stuff and just nerding it big time.
I love that the vinyl market kinda has its own sound that doesn't trend with what's happening at the charts on Beatport, iTunes, Spotify and whatever.
I love that you can actually get a lot of stuff on vinyl that is not available in the digital market and therefore get a chance to play music you know that not many djs actually play or even know exists.
I had a Friday night off. No gigs and no family or friend affairs to attend to. Its been a long time since i had a Friday night home and it didn't take long before the itch to play music was too big and i had to do something about it......
So..... I decided to record this vinyl set of some of the vinyls i bought in 2015 so far. This set probably represents a deeper shade of Noir than you are use to from the clubs where i most of the time play prime-time sets. But.......
I honestly love this sound and this set represents the kind of vinyl i always end up buying for my own personal pleasure and collection rather than thinking it has to be new floor fillers for the clubs around the globe.
This is just good music..... so here you go...... That's how i spent my Friday night. Mixing just for myself on 2x Technics 1210's just like it all started many years ago...... Never forget where you come from... huh ?
I apologies for the short jingles. They are put in there. Its done to respect the labels and artists who puts a lot of work into manufacturing the vinyls in the dig-age.... to avoid ripping etc.

With his third Release of the Bella Avgvsta series, Daniel Bortz shows that Augsburg offers more then its famous Puppet Theater.
The opener “Don’t Forget Your Sword” provides crystal clear Techno, discreetly interrupted by accented fades of an exotic theme.
With rolling Dub sequences, decent recurring swishes and a peaceful break “Jump In The Water” describes the impression to dive into the humid element.
“Lonely Soldier” then provides more power again. The basic theme which is dominated by a minor tone displays an inner unrest created by the unknown that is daily lurking out there for us.
The beautiful deep Dub-Track “Hide From The Sun” finally plays with the change of shimmering heat and chilly shadow. Who does not know the feeling on a hot Open-Air-Afternoon to take an occasional time-out from the merciless burning sun.
Overall this is the most personal and deeply emotional Release and as we think a worthy highlight and conclusion for the Bella Avgvsta series.

Our second offering of the day is a summer-ready remix of Bahama Soul Club’s John Lee Hooker sampling "Never Roam No More", by producer & DJ, Smoove.  Taken from their forthcoming album, 'Bohemia After Dawn', released on July 17 via Buyu Records.

Now based in Algarve Portugal, German combo Bahama Soul Club has become internationally recognized for its laidback and uber cool vibe blending tropical rhythms with jazz and electronic sounds. Following a period of silence, in 2018 they digitally released what would be the first track from their new album, single "Never Roam No More" that uses excerpts of a 1946 recording of John Lee Hooker's "My First Wife Left Me".

Fast forward 2 years and new album "Bohemia After Dawn" is ready to drop worldwide on Buyu Records on July 17th with 10-sunsoaked songs and 2 remixes, including a drum-heavy dancefloor version of "Never Roam No More" by super producer and DJ Smoove, whose beefed up production takes the track in a nu disco direction. 

Bahama Soul Club's upcoming 5th album "Bohemia After Dawn" draws deep inspiration from the multicultural verve of young worldly folk drawn to the Bohemian coasts of the most southwestern part of Europe, where hippiesque hedonism, infinite musical diversity, and offbeat enchanted lifestyles fuel the scene. Featuring a slew of local Algarvian talent as well as members of the extended BSC family, the result is a mature, mellow and well-balanced mix of exotic flavors!

The french brothers Anton & Viktor Pokorny just released a special work on Rituel Recordings label. This time they wanted to tell us a new story, crafted in their studio in Paris. 

Accurately accompanied by a sustained rythm, epic guitar riffs and marvellous vocals. A  serenade called 'Elephas', inspired by a wonderful spanish romance. 

Reworked by Luca Musto and Xique-Xique with two mythic versions.

Coss & Luca Musto - Getting Loose (MLC002)

Straight from the melting pot of Berlin, Luca Musto serves up a solid and fresh house dish in his first album on Moodfamily.

The songs stretch the imagination and touch the borders of hip hop and electronic beats. He intertwines his own musical journey with the sounds of his hometown. It is also the attempt at a new genre by blending hip hop elements with electronic music to create something unique.

This funky fusion expresses itself in three original tracks. “What We Witness” introduces us into the rhythmic exploration of the record. It adds some spicy P-Funk vibes and blurs your senses with drowsy horns, served on a velvet platter.
