Uto Karem makes a return to his label Agile Recordings with two new techno tracks in his trademark style that fuses powerful synth lines with dark atmosphere and heavy percussion.

One of Italy's most accomplished artists, he has a career in music that spans over two decades, and he has been influential in developing the country's thriving techno scene.

He has DJ'd all over the world including many of Europe's top festivals ranging from Miami's Ultra Music to Tomorrowland. His back catalogue of releases are equally impressive, including music signed to labels such as Richie Hawtin's Plus 8, Dubfire's SCI+TEC and UMEK's 1605.

'Meditate' opens the EP with its thrashing hi-hats and fizzing ride cymbals that build suspense behind the intense vocal samples. Dark and intense, this understated track has a fast and furious energy that's perfect for peak time DJ sets.

'Just Keep Pushing' is next on the EP and it's a deeper cut with dubby pads and a rolling groove that's fuelled by a pulsating bassline. Its seductive vocals add to the murky atmosphere underpinned by the pounding of the chunky kick drum.

Jel Ford kicks off his return EP with two tracks of clean big room techno. The title track ‘Backyard’ is a moody affair with a low drone throughout that is complimented with layered synth stabs. Using reverb to create atmosphere within the track it subtly breaks down before a vocal hook transcends the track to deliver a killer blow. ‘Meeting of Minds’ is dubbier and uses a tripped out synth to add rhythm whilst working alongside a synth pattern to keep the track chugging along. The slow evolving pads add texture and keep the track nicely filled out whilst this timeless classic keeps on giving.

It&#8217;s time for Sasha Carassi&#8217;s &#8220;Echoes&#8221; from a few months ago to receive remix treatment, and Skober&#8217;s interpretation is up first and focuses on the melodic elements of the Original but cleverly adds moody synths which add to the overall epicness of the affair, especially in the grandiose breakdown. Layton Giordani is up next with his trademarked shadowy sound and impeccable arrangement, offering yet another angle of attack. Last but not least are Loco &amp; Jam dubbing things out with bursts of references to the original in key moments, while maintaining a rocksteady vibe sprinkled with discordant stabs.

Sasha Carassi - Echoes (Layton Giordani Remix)

Dutch producer and DJ Reinier Zonneveld is racking up accolades about as fast as new fans are losing their shit to his far reaching beats. Having already released on Richie Hawtin’s Minus label and the ever-influential Traum Schalplatten, Zonneveld’s latest, an EP titled Rushchamber, is out on the increasingly important Stil Vor Talent, an imprint run by tastemaker Oliver Koletzki.

The 3-track EP captures the variation Zonneveld is known for and kicks off with “Sharp Bust,” a careening, pure techno number with detuned horns and whirring rushes. The titular track 2, “Rushchamber,” weaves in groovier house influences in the beat, and “Flatchat” levels off somewhere in the middle. The collection reflects the wide palate that Zonneveld, who was raised on classical music, brings to the studio.

Saraceni makes his return to Truesoul with a pumping, 3 track EP. ‘Carry You Away’ displays Saraceni’s diversity as a producer with three heavy hitting yet uplifting tracks, all packed with tantalizing crescendos and deep drops. The vocal-laden EP is high energy, packed with intriguing percussion and dynamic synths and cut a deep, summer-ready groove.
