For our 38th Podcast we've got legendary Chicago party starter and one of next week's headliners, Rahaan.

Rahaan has been dropping disco and house beats to retro music heads since the 80's and he is now a well respected DJ and artist in his own right, with a global following. Starting out as Chicago house party DJ, Rahaan has been ideally situated to perfect his art, and it is his outstanding skill behind the decks that has brought him from the Chicago underground circuit out onto the international playing field. Performing on guest spots for Sisterz of Vision and Soul In The Hole club nights, followed by a residency “Budda Lounge” – one of Chicago’s best nightclubs, opened doors for Rahaan. In between touring Rahaan is busy producing soulful disco and house music for Australian singer Christine Eva and Atlanta based singer/songwriter Ozara Ode’. Although now a firm fixture in the scene, is fair to say that Rahaan is well and truly on his way to accomplishing even bigger and better things.

I've been fortunate, like most in Cork, to be friendly with the legendary Kerri Chandler through his many years DJing here. One of the best producers and DJ's of his generation, he is one of the biggest music fiends i've ever met, and is absolutely 24/7 on it! One night, at a party in my place, he was rapping over beats for ages at a session I wish i had recorded. This little piece here, was spoken off the cuff to me another late evening, and thankfully I was recording. As I get back to producing, I'm definitely gonna use it sometime properly, but in the meantime, i've just combined it with one of my favourite tracks of all time, Garden of Peace. Music is love.

It's been a while since i uploaded a mix and when Rob from Be With Records asked me if i wanted to put together a mix for the AIR reissue he was working on, i immediately liked the idea of using some songs from the album and constructing a mix around them. Took me a bit longer than planned (the reissue is out now), but these songs should give you lots of pleasure wherever your are on your timeline.
