Gabu opens a new chapter with the launch of a fresh series, and the first release comes from none other than Dabous, the Riyadh-based producer making waves far beyond the Saudi underground. Known for his deep, hypnotic house and dub-infused sound, Dabous has already brought his energy to stages like MDL Beast Soundstorm, performing alongside global icons of the scene.

With Ceiling, he strips things down to their essence: mysterious pulses, heavy low-end echoes, and the kind of heady groove that lingers long after the last beat fades. It’s music that feels at once intimate and expansive, born from the underground, shaped for deep listeners, and carrying the unmistakable Gabu signature.

The series will launch first on Bandcamp, giving early supporters exclusive access, before rolling out across all major platforms in the months that follow.

Gabu continues its new series with the next chapter, featuring Canadian producer Mike Shanon. Known for his hypnotic grooves and deep, dancefloor-ready textures, Shanon has been turning heads with his label Cynosure and his refined sound design.

On this release, Shanon dives into hypnotic, deep grooves layered with crisp snares and pulsing rhythms. The track is immersive and dancefloor-ready, carrying Gabu’s signature touch while letting Shanon’s own sound shine through.

The release hits Bandcamp first, giving early supporters exclusive access, before spreading across all major platforms in the coming months.

Dropping the next chapter of our mix series, we’re joined by @o-squared Bood, a quietly renowned DJ in his region. For this edition, he delivers a deep mix built around hidden and forgotten records. Beyond the decks, he’s also one of the co-founders of Soundscapes Zanzi Festival, a unique, sun-soaked and moonlit musical experience on the east coast of Zanzibar. He is also the founder of Phono Sound System, a high-fidelity custom sound stack he built in the UAE with sound-system builder Uncle Ronnie and his company 8Mile Sound.

This year, Gabu Records marks its third anniversary with a defining compilation that captures the label’s evolution and its commitment to deep underground dance music. Since its inception in 2023, rooted in the ethos of Gabu, an Arabic term for “basement”, the label has become synonymous with music that bridges sounds from the Middle East to Europe and beyond, connecting underground communities through forward-thinking production.

The compilation brings together signature tracks from the label’s catalogue, showcasing the artistic diversity that have defined these years. It also reflects Gabu’s global artistic roster, from Jeddah-based innovators to contributors from Berlin and Reykjavik, uniting a wide spectrum of musical expression.
