A Nocturne for A Dialogue in the Night for solo piano

It is the third of three mysterious nocturnes, performed by my dear friend Antonino Spina.
The emotions and thrashings during a wakeful and restless night.

It is the very first of my four concert etudes for solo piano, played by my friend and former mentor, Marco Giovanetti.
This was even his favourite.
It is very epic in character, and masterful.

Concert Etude for solo Piano NR.1 in C sharp minor.

It is my original composition for a mixed duo, Cello and Piano.
There will be three of them, as a trinity, to be played together.
I love the cello particularly, its voice and tone. Its melancholy beauty.

An Elegy Of Passion

It is the first movement of my string quartet in G minor.
It is, intentionally, a stylistic puzzle. A touch of Baroque, then minimalist, early 1900's with a Bartokian 7/8 rhythm, then some abrupt virtuoso points that seem breathless.

Brano 02 A BRIEF NOCTURNE IN B FLAT MINOR A Dialogue In The Night

I have already posted this piece, played by myself. I post this one now, a version by a well-known italian concert pianist, M. Damerini. His interpretation compared to my own.\
As I said in the precedent post, I had conceived this piece during a lonely and mellow night, reflecting upon the my life's events.
I was thinking of both Satie and Miles Davis when I composed this piece. And it was a revelation to me when another musician, and quite a good one, took it up to interpret it, giving it different innuendos.
I thank him so much.
There is a middle section  of the piece which could remind someone of a more jazzy Brahms descending episode.

Brano 01 A BRIEF NOCTURNE(2) for piano solo

After having attended nearly two years, I finally present my Romance for Violin and Piano called 'The Search'.
I was thinking of our continual search, in our lives, for that any one thing which makes us happy. It could be anything. We may find it, as we may not. 
It is the most lyrical piece I have composed uptil now.

Romance for Violin and Piano in D minor 'THE SEARCH'

This a very dark waltz for solo piano.
I was inspired by the idea of a city in an alternative reality, semi abandoned and indefinite.
Some far away bells toll, and a faceless dancer appears before a young woman who is wandering aimlessly through this distortion in time.
The faceless dancer may be a metaphor for fate.
He forces her into this unpleasant waltz, with the city as background.

Waltz for solo Piano called 'Mystericity'

It is a very melancholy waltz for solo piano, one of my very first original compositions.
It is quite suited for a soundtrack I think.

It is a very pensive and wistful waltz, where during a walk in the mist, you are thoughtful and silent.

Nocturne Nr, 4 for Solo Piano, A Misty Afternoon.

It is a very demanding piece for solo piano, one of four very challenging studies for piano.
A great master and friend played them for me, but alas, he is no longer of this earth.
I miss him very much.
In practice, these etudes are four storms.
And this one is a churning one.

It is a very malignant sort of etude for solo piano, the fourth in a row of my original compositions for piano, the dance of a demon of sorts.
Performed by Marco Giovanetti, former Artistic Director of the Bergamo Conservatorium of Music.
He is no longer of this earth, and I miss him.

Hi there. Music is my passion, my link to breathing. It has pulled me out of some very tight situations, given me meaning and freedom from grey reality. It sustains and nourishes my soul. I crave for music most of the time, if not all the time. I love teaching it, love singing it, love playing it. I love to compose, to write songs. Most of my friends are musicians or song writers, and I can happily boast a good number of such friends, from many places on this globe. What else can be added? I've summed myself up as well as possible. All the rest to be discovered in my creations.
