this song is not to offend the artists mentioned, nor does it represent our opinions of these celebrities. we are just commenting on the misfortunes and the sad reality of how these figures have been targets of racial defamation.

What do you do when the Oscars are so white? What do artists of color do when their images and works are products of racialization? What does it say of the established culture when people are deprived of their culture for an unobtainable "Whiteness" or "American Greatness"? Are the victims of this Racialization wrong for the decisions they've made? Are they products of centuries-worth of Hatred? Do we place the blame on them, or ourselves, for accepting it for so long?

This song is not intended to stir anger, nor to explicitly define our opinions of these figures. This song is intended to arouse the uncomfortable discussion on the #FACTS of each of these cases that appear to be centered around racial prejudice.

Lance Markeith tackles the topic with witty bars reflecting on the plights of Malcolm X, Sydney Poitier, and Bill Cosby, his favorite actors and political figures. Gaea LaBelle layers it with a feminine concern over the accessorizing of women, "white girl" meaning cocaine, literally a whiter-skinned spouse, and the personified image of success and acceptance.
