Raised in Toulouse, France, Aurore Dexmier quickly had a fascination with counterculture and its artistic output, especially in music. With her roots lying in punk and its various crossovers with electronic music, her calling was truly locked in when she moved to New York in search of a bigger scene.

There, she would spend time at places like Bossa Nova Civic Club to discover new music and experiences. Track selection and digging being her number 1 passion, Dexmier moved to Paris where she has her own label, 99cts rcrds, to put out a huge variety of different styles of music.

Big excitement this week as we welcome Miley Serious. The Paris and New York-based artist hosts her long-standing show on Rinse France which has been a platform for up and coming artists. With her foundation set in the electronic and punk scenes, she runs the tape and zine imprint 99CT RECORDS which we see as a reflection of both worlds. She has been a resident of the infamous Killekill in Berlin for eons, which is where we first came into contact. Her sets effortlessly and successfully combine electro, post-punk, techno, gabber, Memphis, and pretty much any style that makes your head bob. This is evident in her contributions to Boiler Room Hard Dance series from last year as well as many others before and after it. Brace yourself for a take no prisoners selection from one of our favorite DJs out there.

Whether you're hearing a track or a DJ set, you can usually tell it's Nene H pretty quickly. In just a few years, Beste Aydin has developed a very specific approach within the realm of techno. She inhabits the genre yet colours just enough outside the lines without losing the plot—or the pull—entirely. The focus is on fun, on groove and on hooks, with sets that dip into trance, electro, ghetto house and even hints of hyperpop, tying in neon threads into techno's all-black garb. 

She's used techno as a jumping off point for orchestral and choral performances, as well as the poignant expression of grief (on her stellar debut album). She's become a regular at Berghain and groundbreaking festivals like CTM, traversing a highbrow-lowbrow line that posits that every kind of dance music deserves the highbrow treatment. Her RA Podcast is an irresistible hour of techno full of what she calls "Neneisms," turns into pop hooks amidst hulking techno beats and dips into funky, electro-informed beats.

Her productions bring a variety of sounds and invite us to explore the full range of her musical dynamics, leading the listener into her universe where the border between dreams and reality blurs into one, with no tangible beginning or end. Aside from his many killer releases on the likes of Veyl, Pinkman Body Musick and many others, he is also the co-founder of well known labels such as BAKK, RUBBER, and the PLAFOND series. Although he is well known for his electro and EBM compositions, his talent and acumen know no bounds with more recent releases colouring outside of these lines. We continue the GF series this week with one of the pillars of the Dutch electro scene, none other than DJ Overdose. Hailing from The Hague and based in Rotterdam, his story starts in the eighties. His vision was to create a vibe “where the subs are devastating and the beats are raw". He underpins his work with booming Miami bass and draws on his love for 80s hip-hop to conjure up his signature style. He's etched his mark on deeply loved and respected labels such as L.I.E.S., Creme Organization, Bordello A Parigi, Pinkman, Viewlexx, Murder Capital, his own RotterHague, and many others. Famously dexterous in the booth, DJ Overdose has well-honed skills that make him able to tear up a larger stage or connect with a more intimate crowd. He graces this series with a two-and-a-half-hour live recording at the Down The Rabbit Hole festival. Lock in!'

The GF series is back this week with Ayshel. The young, Athens-based DJ is part of the Stegi Radio team and hosts her show CALL NOW for over four years. Her show features artists such as Pi Electronics resident Zorz, LVRIN, and others. When she's not playing Athens staples like Astron Bar, which sadly closed, she has been making the rounds at festivals like Healthy Summer Fest and others. Her selections are located somewhere between tribal beats, hypnotic melodies and industrial sounds. Her mix is no exception. Lock in for an hour from one of Athens' hottest up-and-coming DJs.
