Our first mix of 2022 opens with multi-talented journalist, producer, and DJ Chloé Lula. After over a decade contributing to the electronic music scene as a curator, DJ, and label-head, Chloé took on producing in 2019 after a month-long residency with Drew McDowall from Coil. Her debut EP ‘Errant Bodies’ released on Berlin-based label aufnahme + wiedergabe last year is a collage of heavy-hitting EBM, industrial, and techno electronica - raw, gritty, and dancefloor oriented, a sonic sentiment she translates into her DJing, her monthly residency ‘No Exit’ on Refuge Worldwide, and her mix for Endless Illusion. In addition to her work as a musician, Chloé is passionate about gender justice, LGBTQ+ and human rights, migration and mutual aid, as well as their intersection with music, culture, and nightlife. You can find her writing on Refuge Worldwide, a radio station that amplifies these issues (and much more) and a number of major international publications. She spoke with Jonáš about inequalities in the music industry, new horizons for Resident Advisor, the art of DJing, and her studio setup and upcoming music.

Mick Wills started playing his beloved DJ sets about thirty years ago. In the early 90’s DJ Hell took note of his talent and got him aboard as a resident of the legendary days of International Deejay Gigolo.
As the selector of the whole era of dance music his sets might be better described as master classes.
Wills built up his reputation fast throughout the world and locally at places such as Ultraschall, Trouw, Golden Pudel, and Concrete. Mick Wills is also a dedicated producer.
Mick is a freak and an avid record collector playing like every night is his last. Again and again and again...

Мой гость сегодня - берлинский музыкант Serge Geyzel.
Родившийся в Саратове музыкант посвятил 12 лет своей жизни изучению классической музыки, уделяя особое внимание игре на фортепиано. Переехав в Израиль в 1999 году, Сергей влюбляется в джазовую сцену и отправляется в новое путешествие, изучая джазовое фортепиано в Иерусалимской музыкальной академии, выступая со своим трио и другими различными ансамблями.

Затем этот увлекательный опыт переносит его из области традиционной музыки в безграничный мир производства электронной музыки: начинаются эксперименты с программным обеспечением для создания новых звуков.
С момента переезда в Берлин в 2014 году, исследуя тенденции электронной музыки в городе, оказывая влияние на свой собственный звук. Serge Geyzel сочетает свою близость к электронике начала 2000-х годов с эстетикой "электро" и "дарк эмбиента" в своей нынешней музыкальной продукции.

В создании своих произведений Сергей предпочитает аналоговые синтезаторы и драм-машины, а также использует полевые записи и самописные сэмплы - и музыкальный результат представляет собой сочетание поэтических слоев и тяжелых электро-ритмов.
