Featuring neon beats and pseudo-organic soundscapes, Galen Tipton's 'spell books O1 ::: Ideonella sakaiensis' evokes a universe of warped synthetic evolution, nature imitating technology imitating nature, with unexpected ghosts frequently emerging from the machine. 

Described by Galen as a glistening wreckage, 'spell books O1' explores aspects of the chaotic multifaceted relationships between humans, nature and technology, acting as a spiritual sibling to previous release 'OoOo', but delving deeper into use of texture and samples to explore a more nocturnal sonic spectrum. More specifically, 'spell books O1' is an ode to Ideonella sakaiensis, a bacterium able to break down non-biodegradable plastics, essentially erasing humanity's conscious mistakes through unconscious biological processes, and shifting us from our traditional role as a destructive apex predator to a single node within a self-regulating ecological network. 

These complex mutualistic relationships that exist between nature and technology run deep as a theme through Galen's work, and are further explored in a 10-page booklet of original artwork designed to act as a narrative companion to the album.
