I do think I've hit new heights of weirdness with this one.

What Gives

Well, I recently took a job as an 'on-air personality' with a local radio station, meaning I am officially a professional disc jockey. I am on the air 25 hrs a week, m-f, and doing lots of smash audio production work. I am really enjoying it, but now and again I get a little squirrelly. This is how I maintain my sanity, or insanity as the case might be, on the side. At the moment I don't have as much space for big instrumental productions, but here is a taste of my voice (now, that sounds weird) which has been patiently waiting in the wings most of my soundcloud time. These very little productions I can probably keep generating pretty consistent like. Hope you enjoy!

House Arrest

Recorded last week on 3 October 2012 when my daughter was 10 & release now that she is 11 /// subtitled Now We Are Eleven which will become the title of the collection (which *was* tagged Tender Tones) ... this was recorded to a Zoom H2 portable digital recorded using its built in mics ... laying on the bed next to the baby who is now about 8 wks old. About 37 seconds before I pressed record I had come up with the basic groove and the first few lines ... which is where my daughter is following me pretty good at first ... then we winged it. So, this is creation in action folks and is less than a week old. This is my very favorite thing to do ... catching these moments of inspiration with fingers crossed. This one turned out pretty good. Ironically, the better I catch that first impulse the less likely I am to ever revisit it in performance because I've grown to prefer the recording wherein the mystery and magic of that first impulse unspooling into time is somehow trapped in amber through the beautify of the recording art.
