Humanity seems to be consistently consumed by the clutches of fear and hate; a black hole of misery and denial of the true potential inside of us. This cavernous mouth is hungry and ready to devour everything it can. We are guided there by the warped perception: that there is no other way but down, deep down into the abyss. This is incomprehensibly far from the truth; though suffering is unavoidable, it is inevitably one component of life among myriad others. Such a notion of binding hardship, when one develops the capacity to both identify and accept suffering, becomes a link so beautiful and pure it becomes the will to continue to live.

Such a notion, unanimously shared and experienced by all living things (merely observe the true nature of the natural world to understand this) is a reminder that we are alive. We breathe. We laugh. We cry. We hurt.
We live.
Our lives are beautiful - every piece of it. Beyond the the pain and brutality we have the capacity to inflict, and beyond the purity of virtuous acts we share. Existence is a beautiful thing. An impossible gift worth accepting. Through this acceptance, I believe, is the gateway to goodness. A mean for us to reconnect to our souls and to feel the deep connection dormant within us that allows us to share love and respect to all that is made of up the elements.

Pulchra Es Elementis LP [IM089]

Galtier enters for his fifth instalment on his own label with ‘Opaque Envelopes’; an exploration of frequency and tilted sound processing across four slick, mid-tempo creations. Having leant heavily into hardware-focused productions, Galtier has refined his use of raw, one-take recordings and hand-crafted audio inflections, carving out a space dripping with feedback channels, aggressive modulation and dense, weighty sub bass, the collection makes for a set of highly functional, warehouse-ready rollers.

The EP carries itself along a subtle, evolutionary line, where Galtier hones in on transient, shifting soundscapes of rich, searing synthetics, all glued together with tight, syncopated rhythms that channel dubstep and electro. The intention is for each piece to sound alive; teeming with a life of its own, full of personality and vitality that breathes throughout. A significantly mature body of work that encapsulates the decade and a half journey into sound that he has embarked on.

@galtier returns to Plasma Sources with Mainframe Incantation, a five-track release marking the 7th position on the label’s roster. First appearing on the Multi Source compilation earlier this year, Galtier now moves beyond the mechanical, sci-fi focus toward a sound that fuses technology with the divine, inhabiting the liminal space between worlds.

Rooted in the earliest traditions of percussive music as a vehicle for altered states, Mainframe Incantation channels ritual energy through synthesised and digitised means, closing a cultural loop from origin to present. The result is a tension between the spiritual and the mechanical — feverish, dissonant, and hypnotic.

The journey begins with "Ausmisis States", a restrained, technical opener of squelchy basslines and coarse pads, setting the stage for contact. "Tincture Pump" bursts through next—erratic, bouncy, and high-velocity, with a swelling distortion lead that injects chaotic energy straight to the bloodstream.

In "Tink Cycle", the pace slows into a groove-laden trance, its caustic bassline dragged forward by steady kicks and splintering snares. At the centre lies "Hex Crawler", a gurgling, otherworldly entity speaking in alien tones before breaking into a vast, unearthly climax.

Closer "Phantom Tremors" hurls us back toward reality with hasty techno-inflected percussion, metallic strikes, and roaring sub-frequencies. Pulsing hardware bleeps push the final surge, sealing the ritual in a haze of digital energy.

An older track of mine from 2015. Project file has been lost in time so it deserves to be unleashed in it's destined-to-be form. I really loved this period of my productions; it felt like I was really starting to find my feet with what I wanted to make and a direction I wanted my sound to go in.

Nods to proto-grime from the era along with blatant UK influences rhythmically and sonically. I loved the anxious melodic pad on this, I was just starting to write my own synths at this point and was moving away from samples. Really happy to finally let this one be heard by the world.

Pulchra Es Elementis begins with Crystalised Larva, a brooding opener of breathy pad synths and expansive kick drums which reverberate through the mix as if the hits originate from the bottom of a valley. There’s an indistinct sense of tension on this track, in part due to a central melody, which never resolves but only descends lower in pitch. This tension turns to explorative wonder on Wilfull Saviour, where a mirage of musical ideas come in and out of focus. Although the sonic worlds Galtier explores are internal to him, Wilfull Saviour still possesses that sense of a cosmic journey we’ve come to expect from Wells; an ardent fan of dystopian films and literature.

Continuing this emotional odyssey, Bruised, But Not Broken sees the artist push deeper into the psychological undergrowth; its murky tonality juxtaposes crisp, Reggaeton-inspired drum patterns with a heavily compressed one-note synth line that modulates wildly - cutting through the mix like a nagging thought that won’t leave your mind. Next up is U Were, U Are & What U Will Be, one of the more club-ready tracks of the LP, which gets us moving with a snarling bassline and layers upon layers of percussive hits and inflections.

At Pulchra Es Elementis’ mid-point is the LP’s title track, a drumless interlude where blissful, shimmering synths create a patchwork of intensities. Galtier’s approach to songwriting shines through here; ignoring musical pragmatics, he opts to feel his way through his compositions without knowing where they might end up. Following on from that weightless breather, Phantasiai turns up the freneticism with its head-spinning mix of drum programming and a glitched-out synth line that yo-yos up and down octaves. Things get even more furious on the Superficie-featuring Cavernam, a hollow Hard Drum banger inspired by Eskibeat sensibilities and designed to create a sense of self-implosion.

The album’s penultimate track, (U Are) Beautiful, is a tale of two halves: beginning with a moment of serenity as synthesizers swell like an ocean tide before evolving into a marching crescendo of raw energy. Rounding off the album, Shine Forth hurtles through pacey drum work and all manner of strange zaps and klaxons before giving way to a final dose of nebulous ambience.

A musical journey unlike any other ‘club music’ albums, Pulchra Es Elementis is an LP that demands to be consumed in one sitting. Reflecting on his place within the universe and the musical landscape, the album could be viewed as a musical exorcism which sees Galtier working through and shedding huge chunks of his ego that stuck to him out of fear of the unknown. Pulchra Es Elementis begins on an insecure, overwhelming or, even, existential note before rounding off with a related sense of vastness seen with new, more positive eyes. It’s a voyage we hope you will join him on.

Galtier makes his second return to his own label with a 5-track offering of off-kilter, obscure electronic madness aptly titled 'Imitation Plantae'. Inspired by the idea of man-made imitations attempting to capture the essence of natural beauty. Galtier's take on this very concept manifests itself through the ever-present sense of unease that is evident across all five tracks. The melodies drift in and out of tune, ever so slightly, ultimately sounding pleasing but always fleeting in their general aura of pleasantness.

A showcase of Galtier's breadth of confidence across a huge span of BPMs and rhythmic influences that is showcased on his sophomore NHS release, reflecting the sense of uncertainty conveyed through the Intentionally awry mood throughout.

‘Half-Dead Orchid Still Breathing’ is a stripped back thudding piece designed for a futuristic cyber-Zaibatsu Police chase scene. Dense 808 subs thunder with spacious yet present tom drums as hollow synthetic sounds reverberate in between. It carries low end weight and steps with an almighty poly-rhythmic flow.

Following up off his early 2022 NHS EP 'Imitation Plantae’, NHS bossman Galtier brings back the weirdo-bass vibe with a panic-stricken selection of 4 tracks spanning a plethora of BPMs; no surprises there. A surprising switch to hardware production however has caused a healthy shift in the general presence of Galtier's tracks. Distinctly churning in mood and flow, Galtier’s third contribution to his own catalog are tunes for the place where the roof drips.

The nauseating melter-tech approach to the array of tracks reek of panic-mode energy; with jarring hooks that contort through the resonant, crispy aether of each piece. The rawness of hardware shines through on each iteration of this new focus for Galtier: a distinct step in the direction of swampy bass music that glistens just right as those raw frequencies should.

From its modest beginnings, the Swiss label Creaked has carved out a unique, colorful, adventurous and independent path of its own in the music world, appealing to both music fans and Djs with its eclectic sounds and textures. Growing international networks and community from Vevey to Manchester and Berlin to San Francisco, the imprint was first launched in Lausanne during the summer of 2004 before moving its office and headquarters to Biel/Bienne in 2018. Over two decades, surviving musical evolution and seismic industry shifts without losing its main position to support electronic music from experimental avant-pop to club sounds and beyond, the label keeps helping define the development of genres by unveiling records from newcomers to established artists. 

To mark its 20th anniversary, Creaked announces the release of "Music Falls into a Mysterious Void", a compilation bringing twenty new and exclusive gems, ten original cuts and ten remixes of emblematic tracks taken off its back-catalog that shaped the label's history with its artistry roster from the early days to the present. Freshly joined by the two brand new signings Nic as Well and Olive T, current artists such as Owelle and Inuit Pagoda rub shoulders with old pals like Larytta, Mochipet, Julien Aubert, My Panda Shall Fly and the late and greatly missed Bloodysnowman. 

With tracks including the dubby-slow-dance reinterpretation of Consor's ‘Monoski’ (2006) by Torchon & Ganj, the gorgeous IDM journey ‘Know Better, Do Better’ by Hrdvsion, the Me&Mobi’s post-electronica surgical cover of ‘Thot’ by Gaspard de La Montagne and the psychedelic-drone-ambient ‘Hamada’ by Al-Sarwib, this celebratory release encompasses a broad and stylistic range of the label's output. 

Highlights of the compilation contain Baltimore mastermind The Soft Pink Truth's rework of 2010’s ‘All Men Must Die’ by Sutekh, Bristol artist Galtier with his slamming remix of ‘Stride’ by Isolated Lines, ‘Who Took This Base Out?’ by Zürich geek minimal techno producer Cosili and pop wave hero Buvette's remix of ‘Clair de Lune’ by Los Orioles. 

While UK artists Ikonika appears with her infectious remix of Oy's ‘First Box Then Walk’ and Elsa Hewitt transforms Verveine's ‘Veine R #1’ into a subtle and delicate version, Parisian hybrid house genius Sunareht rounds off the ceremony with his majestic remix of Scarlett’s ‘Give Up’. 

Mastered by Samuel Vaney and art designed by Monokini, this selection of tracks is way more than just a compilation— this is 20 years of music activities, all packed together in one. Creaked’s tale is the slow rise of a real indie record label with multiple sounds and a wide roster from the ground up, learning through error and success, listening and always adapting without becoming jaded or losing its passion. With "Music Falls into a Mysterious Void", the label showcases its forward-thinking vitality through looking behind and braving into the future.

Originally meant to be a remix, this track was never released and the project file is lost like so many others, so it joins the forgotten archive. Suitable for the colder months of North Earth this time of year.

Chunky, aggressive, oddly forward thinking for where I was at musically at the time. Listening to this track makes me realise how this style was kind of a turning point for me and the sound I was trying to make.

Episode fiiiiiiiiiiive of five for this season on Relativa! The final show of my first season on RR takes a hard and fast turn as I explores half time rhythms in the first hour; spinning mutant dancehall and fast percussive techno, jumping around between 80/90bpm before heading north to 170/180 and back down and up and down and up and down.

For the second hour I'm vvvv pleased to be joined by Nostro Hood System label boss, Galtier, for a mix that’s as pounding and eclectic as the releases in the NHS back catalogue. Pushing forward unique leftfield techno and bubbling UK bass dripping with twists, Nostro Hood System steadily releases some of the most forward-thinking dance music in the game right now: spearheaded by Galtier. An esteemed producer and DJ in his own right, Galtier’s own productions can be brooding and melancholic whilst simultaneously being fast and chaotic. A collection of lost project files; eternalised as forever demos. Made over the span of 2014 to 2017. Heavy, weighty movers with plenty of sub and proto-grime/early Night Slugs Club Constructions influenced through and through. Some with subtle yet blatant samples to the keen ear. Repeated noises have been re-sampled across all tracks. I also absolutely rinsed beeps quite alot.

Calibrated (Shellshock) is a repurposed remix of Krizzli & Jerry Riggs that was never released. The rest of the tracks are straight originals that I will never be able to change or edit. Enjoy them as they are.

Galtier’s is an artist who hones in on amalgamation as the focal point of his output; his works occupy an expansive somatic energy that has evolved significantly over his decade-long presence in the global electronic scene.

Sporadic unexpectedness in rhythmic pace and structure coupled with a coagulated sense of mood is the formula for Galtier’s productions and DJ sets; a willingness to explore change and progression in sound while maintaining a sense of driven cohesion has been a driving force throughout his foray into sound design. 

The productions on both his 2018 'Terran' EP and his debut album 'Pulchra Es Elementis', released in 2021 are essentially 'Blade Runner soundtrack with Drums' utilising impactful, theatrical melodic qualities and borrowing heavily from Techno, UK Bass, world influenced percussive rhythms, Drum & Bass, Dancehall and Ambient. His distinctive interest in the myriad world of rhythm and percussion - coupled with a love for 1980’s science fiction & fantasy that he grew up watching - help sculpt these compositions into imaginative, thematic electronic tracks.

Later works have been experiments into raw signal music, heavily FM-oriented and further into the abstract alien. Galtier’s 2022 ‘Imitation Plantae’ EP and his latest 2023 release ‘Nausea Signal Studies’ are examples of said evolution, with the inclusion of hardware frequencies into the mix and a further delving into resonance and organic movement of processed noises. The palette is far more erratic and bulbous; the immenseness of the soundscapes have caved in on themselves, feeling more like a black hole than the spiritual vastness of space and the emotions that come with this sensation. 

Galtier has offered up mixes on reputable platforms that include Fact Mag, XLR8R, Inverted Audio, Rinse France and has contributed endlessly to the enormity of independent music publications that are making humble moves. Throughout, minimal restrictions on BPM and a desire to keep things ever-changing result in massive shifts in tempo throughout even a brief Galtier set. His cohesive understanding of music accompanied by his passion for creating his own unique and stylistic approach has won him admiration and respect on an international scale.

He has worked with such labels as Infinite Machine, NAAFI, [re]sources, TRRUENO, 10 Label and in 2015, Galtier introduced his own label Nostro Hood System to the world; nestled in the thematic concept as a label focused on the xenological discovery of an alternate galaxy to our own that sets out to showcase the musical artefacts that originate from it. The output has hosted releases from such production greats as Amor Satyr & Siu Mata, Atrice, Amazondotcom, Siete Catorce, Aircode, Avernian and Galtier himself.

Galtier enters for his fifth instalment on his own label with ‘Opaque Envelopes’; an exploration of frequency and tilted sound processing across four slick, mid-tempo creations. Having leant heavily into hardware-focused productions, Galtier has refined his use of raw, one-take recordings and hand-crafted audio inflections, carving out a space dripping with feedback channels, aggressive modulation and dense, weighty sub bass, the collection makes for a set of highly functional, warehouse-ready rollers.

The EP carries itself along a subtle, evolutionary line, where Galtier hones in on transient, shifting soundscapes of rich, searing synthetics, all glued together with tight, syncopated rhythms that channel dubstep and electro. The intention is for each piece to sound alive; teeming with a life of its own, full of personality and vitality that breathes throughout. A significantly mature body of work that encapsulates the decade and a half journey into sound that he has embarked on.

After 5 standout releases, including debuts from many fresh faces to the left-of-field underground scene, Plasma Sources presents its inaugural compilation: Multi-Source. It brings together the current label family and a slew of other artists operating on the cutting- edge of dance floor electronics for a multi-genre, sound design heavy, wild ride. In turn, the label takes aim at establishing itself as one of the most exciting imprints in the experimental club scene.
From the 90BPM cinematic, Lorn-esque sludge of newcomer Guide’s ‘Gemological’ to the crisp staccato transients and negative space of Ziyiz’s ‘Plastic Sentiments’, each track adheres to one of the guiding principles that the label has employed so effectively to curate it’s platform, irrespective of tempo: a love for sci-fi aesthetics and a desire to transpose these into sonic equivalents.

Plasma Sources has always prided itself on delicately balancing dark and light, release to release. On Multi-Source, this broad spectrum is in full vision. Reinartz offers up dubbed- out, IDM-esque desolation on ‘Action Bias’, whilst Stolen Velour’s ‘Suigetsu’ brings a bright playfulness - high-pitched vocal cuts marry pulsating, organic beats which sound like if Untold’s Hemlock output got a 2024 facelift. Some tracks, like Prior Self’s brooding yet fidgety ‘Turn Out’ and Klahrk & Atrice’s flange-fuelled ‘You’ve Changed’ occupy the centre of this continuum with their takes on high-tempo techno-influenced mutations.

The full label family comes back to join in on the fun. HYPNA and NIQH team up on a collaboration which perfectly unites their sounds under a 4-bar bass-heavy roller laden with noise. NIQH offers up their own track, exploring crystalline club structures on ‘Pressure’. unearth’s cinematic, wasteland-ridden sound is in clear focus on ‘Safe Tread’ and Beton Brut’s signature grime-concrète comes through loud and clear on ‘WWW’.

Cortical offer up ‘Hammer’, a continuation of their relentless avant-techno manifesto established by their debut, whilst J-Shadow rounds things off with a space-age jungle- exploration on ‘X-38'.
The juxtaposition of dark and light. The delicate balancing of experimentalism and dance floor sensibilities. The interweaving of sci-fi and biologically-infused sound design. These are the key aesthetics with which Plasma Sources has approached its output ever since release no.1.
Multi-Source acts as a confirmation of this manifesto as it looks forward to 2025 and its future as a key player in the experimental club scene.

SMT3X invites a collection of avant-garde artists to reimagine the tracks from their Godspeed EP, exploring a wide range of sonic landscapes from deconstructed bass music to fragmented rhythms and experimental textures.

Our featured premiere sees Galtier reinterpret the SMT3X x Slikback collab hit 'DESPOTE/FROST' with a murky hybrid approach, while Tufi fuses jersey club and hyperpop, while Rumina brings her signature tribal style, amplifying the sacred energy of the track. Max Dahlhaus infuses a 90s industrial and drum and bass vibe, ENDGAME simplifies the structures into a tribal dj tool reworking, K1RA delivers a melancholic, pop-infused dembow, and Prophän concludes the project with an ambient, doom-laden sound, evoking a cinematic score.

Each remix deepens SMT3X's sonic universe, propelling their exploration into new frontiers of contemporary post-club music.

@galtier returns to Plasma Sources with Mainframe Incantation, a five-track release marking the 7th position on the label’s roster. First appearing on the Multi Source compilation earlier this year, Galtier now moves beyond the mechanical, sci-fi focus toward a sound that fuses technology with the divine, inhabiting the liminal space between worlds. 

Rooted in the earliest traditions of percussive music as a vehicle for altered states, Mainframe Incantation channels ritual energy through synthesised and digitised means, closing a cultural loop from origin to present. The result is a tension between the spiritual and the mechanical — feverish, dissonant, and hypnotic. 

The journey begins with "Ausmisis States", a restrained, technical opener of squelchy basslines and coarse pads, setting the stage for contact. "Tincture Pump" bursts through next—erratic, bouncy, and high-velocity, with a swelling distortion lead that injects chaotic energy straight to the bloodstream. 

In "Tink Cycle", the pace slows into a groove-laden trance, its caustic bassline dragged forward by steady kicks and splintering snares. At the centre lies "Hex Crawler", a gurgling, otherworldly entity speaking in alien tones before breaking into a vast, unearthly climax. 

Closer "Phantom Tremors" hurls us back toward reality with hasty techno-inflected percussion, metallic strikes, and roaring sub-frequencies. Pulsing hardware bleeps push the final surge, sealing the ritual in a haze of digital energy.
