GAMADON - Electro Mixes

GAMADON (aka GAvin MAc DONagh) started buying records and DJing in Dublin in 1996. He is a vinyl only DJ and record collector - Irish, currently based in London.
• He runs the Warehouse Manifesto label, with the first vinyl release out in earlier this year. A limited edition picture disc featuring electro tracks released in digital format only previously on Bass Agenda Recordings.
• He curates the Warehouse Manifesto mix series which he started in 2021. Some of his guests to date include Umwelt, Ben Sims, Claude Young, Joey Beltram, Jensen Interceptor, Sync 24 and Alienata.
• Most notably, he supported The Prodigy, on their European tour in cities such as Berlin, Hanover, Prague and Luxembourg in 2015-2016.
• Gamadon has previously had his mixes published by labels such as Bass Agenda, Dark Science Electro, Gated, Gladio Operations, Nocta Numerica, Vortex Tracks, Distrito 91, Masa Series, Lepton, Hilltown Disco, Digital Distortions, Glory Berlin, Noise To Meet You and Elektrodos.

GAMADON (aka GAvin MAc DONagh) started collecting records and DJing in Dublin in 1996. He was born in Galway, grew up in Mullingar and is now based in London. He runs the Warehouse Manifesto record label.

The initial vinyl releases on Warehouse Manifesto Records are electro with some techno releases planned for 2024, all focused on tough, hard-hitting, underground sounds. The Warehouse Manifesto mix series’ guests include Ben Sims, Umwelt, Claude Young, Joey Beltram and also homegrown talent such as Jamie Behan, Nez, Cailín and Ryan Dallas.

Gavin has been DJing and running parties since the late nineties in his town of Mullingar and as far as Vancouver and Bermuda. He supported The Prodigy in Berlin, Hanover, Prague and Luxembourg during their 2015-16 tours.

Next, he joins Controlled Weirdness and Gunfinger Food for their ‘Electro &amp; Beyond’ night in Planet Wax, London on 30th September.

Some cracking records this month with brand new tracks from ReKaB on Analog Concept and Curved Space (Owain K and Gilbert) on Innate. The spectacular ending to Jamie Exalt's label also features throughout with tracks from 'The End' by Nyquist, SCN1, The Hidden Figure (aka Cignol) and Transparent Sound.

A special mention to Koloah, an artist I just discovered and am an instant fan. Four tracks included in this mix. One to look out for in the future for sure!

Electronic Convergence Mix - August 2024

Irish DJ and producer Gavin Mac Donagh aka GAMADON runs the vinyl label Warehouse Manifesto (WM), that has been based in London for the past three years but will be relocating to Ireland in the coming months. The WM label operates the harder side of electro and techno and so does this mix, which somewhat amazingly includes all 30 tracks from the first five releases on his label.  We’re fans - and so are The Prodigy, who invited him to play at their shows in Berlin, Hanover, Prague and Luxembourg between 2015-2016. Press play to find out why.

GAMADON is also a member of the Electronic Convergence collective and has a monthly livestreamed show that is hosted on its YouTube channel.

Most notably, GAMADON played support act for The Prodigy, on their European tour in cities such as Berlin, Hanover, Prague and Luxembourg in 2015-2016.

We all have our own definitions of what Electro means to us as individuals and this series hopes to share those perspectives with the listeners of Dark Science Electro - Over the last ten years, I have hosted tons of guest mixes featuring DJs from every corner of the globe who I’ve asked to give me their interpretation of ‘@DarkScienceElectro’ for their guest mix. Generally, in the past, when I am soliciting a guest DJ, I insist that they mix their “weirdest, darkest, coldest Electro” and that has served the show well over the years in pushing my personal narrative of the genre. For the second installment of ‘Define:Electro’ we have London-based Irish DJ, Gavin Mac Donagh, AKA @Gamadon, who has been DJing for over 20 years and been an avid Electro fan since the 90s. Gamadon started playing Electro out in Vancouver, Canada in 1999 with the Pound Recordings crew under the alias Dex of Hazzard. He has also promoted and DJ’d at several underground electronic music nights in Ireland and Bermuda. He has supported International acts such as The Prodigy, 808 State and Sunil Sharpe and is currently a resident DJ with Irish collective, Basement Project. Gamadon hosts a monthly live 2-hour video broadcast on @TimelineMusic2, beginning in the end of January 2020. The show is called Warehouse Manifesto, the same name as the label run by Gamadon.

•	GAMADON (aka GAvin MAc DONagh) started buying records and DJing in 1996.
•	Established the Warehouse Manifesto (WM) record label and guest mix series.
•	WMR001 was released in February 2022 and is distributed on Bandcamp and Juno records.
•	Had the privilege of warming up for The Prodigy, on their European tour in cities such as Berlin, Hanover, Prague and Luxembourg in 2015-2016.
•	First gigs were in my hometown of Mullingar in 1997 with Martian Arts, supporting the likes of 808 State and Sunil Sharpe in The Stables.
•	By 1998, I had secured myself gigs playing techno at the legendary Genius night @ Kitchen and also The POD alongside Warren Kiernan & Joe McGrath. I also played at Derek F’s acid techno parties @ Tivoli Theatre and 13thFloor/McGraths’ supporting Dave the Drummer, Chris Liberator and Lawrie Immersion.
•	Moving to Vancouver, Canada in 1999, I signed up with the Pound Recordings crew under the name ‘Dex of Hazzard’ and was resident at their weekly parties in The Palladium playing breakbeat and electro. I was also invited to play club Sonar and various raves around the city. I also played club Rebar in the city of Edmonton.
•	In 2001, I moved back to Mullingar and started a weekly hard-techno night called ‘The Beat Bunker’ in Daly’s in Mullingar, giving local DJs a chance to play in an intimate venue.
•	In 2003, the next destination was Bermuda. For the three years living and working in this scenic, secluded island, I co-ran the Calisthenics house music parties with DJ Andy Schnerg of Toronto. The Hip Therapy parties were a great success, being Bermuda’s only House and Techno night.
•	I started the Disco Nouveau parties in Mullingar in 2008. This monthly event was held in The Stables live music venue – hosting DJs like Sunil Sharpe, Fran Hartnett, Al Keegan, Niall Power, Barry Redsetta and even DJ Mes, label owner of Legendary US West-Coast house label Guesthouse!). This night ran for 4 memorable years.
•       Long-standing resident with Project Basement, based in Galway.
