"Polarity" is a track built around contrast and tension.

I set out to explore the balance between driving rhythm and emotional melody, using analog textures, hypnotic progression, and a resolutely progressive structure.

Inspired by the melodic techno scene, this piece is designed for both immersive listening and DJ sets.

"Polarity" aims to create a bridge between raw energy and subtle sound design — a balance between extremes.

The Funk Institute Vol. 5

Black Light Disco returned  to the My House Radio airwaves on Monday 20th July 2020 with a real humdinger of a show. 

Kicking things off was our dynamic duo from Wales, Pookie Knights - who delivered a set bursting at the seams with quality disco grooves, hi-hats and disco strings. It was another example of the finely tuned musical brains of these Knights of the BLD Table.

For the second hour, we were more than delighted to showcase the considerable talents of our very special guest for the evening -  Waterford’s finest and friend of the show, Mr Stephen Richards! Stephen takes us on a Tour de Force of past and present - an eclectic array of music genres that'll get your feet stomping and your brains tingling. For us, this was one of the best shows of the year so far and we're sure you'll agree with us.

Stephen is in the richest vein of form of his life right now. Not only is his own DiscoDaze show on Waterford's OpenTempo FM flying, this year has seen stellar releases on Hot Digits, Rare Wiri, Spa In Disco and Slightly Transformed so far this year. Later this year Stephen will make his debut on Tropical Disco Records, whilst his latest collaboration with fellow Waterford dweller Darren 'Daz' Dalton,  'Making Music 2' will release on Hot Digits in the next few months.

Iry has been DJing since 2003 where he started playing Funky House music in bars & clubs in West Yorkshire. He then started to mix up his styles which covered Soulful to Deep House using only Vinyl. After a decade out concentrating on bringing up his family, he played at his close friends wedding last year where he played alongside the head honcho of Incognito, Bluey. Since then he's decided to pick up the records & start mixing again, and we're delighted to showcase his talents for the second hour. Black Light Disco 7th Sept 2020- With Special Guest Iry Sabir

Black Light Disco was slapping on the Hawaiian Tropic and putting the towels on the sun loungers for Monday's show, which featured our monthly residents, Samosa Funk! 

We’ve been spoilt rotten by Les Inferno and De Gama since they joined Black Light Disco - but this? This is something else. It really, really is something else. There are times when it's impossible to find the right words to describe something so good it made your ears tingle and your soul soar. This, dear listeners is one of those times.

•	GAMADON (aka GAvin MAc DONagh) started buying records and DJing in 1996.
•	Established the Warehouse Manifesto (WM) record label and guest mix series.
•	WMR001 was released in February 2022 and is distributed on Bandcamp and Juno records.
•	Had the privilege of warming up for The Prodigy, on their European tour in cities such as Berlin, Hanover, Prague and Luxembourg in 2015-2016.
•	First gigs were in my hometown of Mullingar in 1997 with Martian Arts, supporting the likes of 808 State and Sunil Sharpe in The Stables.
•	By 1998, I had secured myself gigs playing techno at the legendary Genius night @ Kitchen and also The POD alongside Warren Kiernan & Joe McGrath. I also played at Derek F’s acid techno parties @ Tivoli Theatre and 13thFloor/McGraths’ supporting Dave the Drummer, Chris Liberator and Lawrie Immersion.
•	Moving to Vancouver, Canada in 1999, I signed up with the Pound Recordings crew under the name ‘Dex of Hazzard’ and was resident at their weekly parties in The Palladium playing breakbeat and electro. I was also invited to play club Sonar and various raves around the city. I also played club Rebar in the city of Edmonton.
•	In 2001, I moved back to Mullingar and started a weekly hard-techno night called ‘The Beat Bunker’ in Daly’s in Mullingar, giving local DJs a chance to play in an intimate venue.
•	In 2003, the next destination was Bermuda. For the three years living and working in this scenic, secluded island, I co-ran the Calisthenics house music parties with DJ Andy Schnerg of Toronto. The Hip Therapy parties were a great success, being Bermuda’s only House and Techno night.
•	I started the Disco Nouveau parties in Mullingar in 2008. This monthly event was held in The Stables live music venue – hosting DJs like Sunil Sharpe, Fran Hartnett, Al Keegan, Niall Power, Barry Redsetta and even DJ Mes, label owner of Legendary US West-Coast house label Guesthouse!). This night ran for 4 memorable years.
•       Long-standing resident with Project Basement, based in Galway.
