I wanted to release some music over the summer while I continue working on my next full album. With this in mind I have a couple of EP's planned to explore some new ideas.

Pressure Point is the first of these ideas: a 4 track instrumental EP largely based around the ARP 2600 synthesizer. You can hear that synth (along with a few analog friends) on all 4 songs, ranging from thick basses and running arpeggios to multi-tracked chords. 

Pressure Point is now available on all streaming services and Bandcamp. 

If you're interested in vinyl, a re-pressing of one of my previous albums, Smile for the Camera, is available on Bandcamp as well. Feathers' vinyl run is still in production and should be available in the coming months!

I recorded this in 2017 and 2018 using only a Teenage Engineering OP-1 and its internal tape recorder and never shared it. I recorded mainly during travel and channeled a rough year into it. Looking back it isn't very good but considering the workflow of the OP-1... well here it is, for posterity.

Welcome to the sixth edition of my Swipe Right to Funk mixseries. The rise of funk in the late 1960s and early 1970s was a direct response to the Civil Rights movement and represented black musicians being unapologetically black. As Prince said when he inducted Parliament into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, "funk is the force that tore the roof off the sucker that is modern music." As we all take action to further the Black Lives Matter movement, it's important to understand where our music comes from. ALL music is directly descended from black music.

This was one of the first songs I had originally written for my upcoming album, but it didn't end up fitting with the rest of the album stylistically. I still wanted it to see a release, so I finished it as a standalone single instead. Hope you all like it! <3
