Are You Sleeping?

Another 19 year old Garnz song. I had intended to re-record this with distorted guitars, which is why I have classed it as “Alt Rock”. The song was recorded at Mainz in Auckland around 2006 by one of the Audio Engineering students. I am playing all the instruments on the track.

Written/Recorded 14th of June 2007, I can't even remember what I used to record it with?! I feel like it was probably Garage Band. Song is based on the Fairy Tale, Little Red Riding Hood.

Lyrics

There’s a calm little girl in the middle of the woods
Who goes by the name of Red Riding Hood
On a journey to her grans with a basket of sweets
Where will ends meet?

She stumbles upon a lovely old man
With greying hair and an axe in his hand
Who warns her of what might appear
“It’s not safe out here”

Little Red watch your head
Because you might end up dead

She arrives to the cottage, Little Miss Red
To find her granny lying in bed
Who looks different today with some beastie eyes
Is her gran in disguise?

All of a sudden a big bag wolf
Jumps out of the bed all covered in filth
He says “I’m gonna eat you little girl”
Is this the end of Reds’ world?

Little Red watch your head
Because you might end up dead

Then Mr Axe Man kicks down the door
And gives the wolf a good whack in the jaw 
With a wicked swing and a massive slam
Out popped Little Reds’ gran

To Reds surprise her gran stood up
And said “where’s my sweets, buttercup?”
So they sat down, filled the cottage with laughter 
And they all lived together, happy ever after
