Mind Slayer (guest vocalist for Balrogath)

This is my first original Hip Hop song, and the result of one week of teaching myself how to use REAPER. Please be gentle.

I could never tell the truth from a lie from the marketin’
But I can tell that there’s as many stars strewn in the sky as the bargain bin
Do my duty, a loogie to hock and spew at the eye of the dark within
Though the light might burn, I’d as soon be consumed as the fire in my heart begins

My pen is overflowin’ but the spigot is stuck
I think I know why no one’s ever given enough
If I blink and miss the moment then the minute’s when I own it
But the minute I’m in it is when I’m livin’ it up
So I can’t defy it when it’s everything I ever knew
I can’t deny that I can tell I’ll be relevant too
But hell if I ever do I’ll be fightin’ to be spittin’
Catalyze the prophesied for the writing to be written
Not in the stones, I just scrawl it on scrap
But it was carved in my bones since I was crawlin’ in crap
And if I coulda read the runes I woulda learned to sing in tune
But all the coulda-woulda-shoulda’s never gonna be afoot ever again so
Gotta quit with the pencil
Lay it down, pick up the pen for the event so
Eventually I can attempt to see 
If I can tend to a tentative sense of potential

So I gotta get kinetic or I’ll never net it
Synthetic editing is steadily getting pathetic
It’s antithetical to bet against the kinesthetic
You’re better bettering so let it get kinetic

If you begin to see a problem with a guy
Afraid of ink until the brink of twenty-nine
Whining in rhyme ‘bout the time wasted
Then face it, you’re facing a wait: get in line - wait
Less of a line, more of a club
You could join, it’d be fine, but there’s a line for this club
And a list for that line, and I guess this guest list 
Has only ever had my name? (shrug)
But the magic is that:
You’’ve got you’re own fuckin’ club, have a pat on the back!
And it’s about to be so bumpin’ that if I were up in it
I’d up and suffer from a couple hundred panic attacks
But that’s wicked

Stick it in an envelope and lick it
‘Cause I’m happy to cry in the bathroom if I’m in attendance of ending potential

‘Cause you gotta get kinetic or you’ll never net it
Intend a destiny and destiny tends to re-edit
But then the rest of it is left in your end if you let it

Now I’m not lookin’ to diss
If all you’ve ever wanted is to cook and exist
And all of your thoughts aren’t haunted by all you’ve missed
But obviously mine are
Embarrassing and flawed as the oddities I can rhyme are
I perish the thought of takin’ honesty out of my bars
I tear it up so I can walk the odyssey in my heart
So if you wanna hop in my car, I’m gonna cruise these lanes
And if you can pick a lock I can lose these chains
And if you can pick a song on a lame cracked Zune
In less than ten seconds I can name that tune
Can’t choose? Fair enough, it’s okay
Blare it on shuffle for the karaoke
And given’ a listen to this’ll convince you 
That this is the shit in my gristle and sinew
You aren’t fools, I’ve obviously picked a lane
But it’s a carpool to anyone who digs a change
And if you’re arguing over the song choice
Then fine - shuffle might’ve been the wrong choice
Don’t wax prophetic
But the better dedicated, the better the dedicant, so
Don’t ask, go get it
Make the best of destiny and test that potential
