Love song about how two people shouldn’t be together.

At first it sounds like it may be about a bad relationship, which in truth it was but in reality it was about substance abuse in my 20’s. A love hate relationship. The kind of “I just can’t quit you” type that I knew was potentially ruining my life but I tried to convince myself that I’d be ok as long as I had it by my side. I wrote and sang/played guitar and shared some of the screaming vocals along with phoenix echo and Andrew Roth might have had some mixed in there too. Tina played guitar and I think added some backup vocals with Bobby on bass and Matt Prucher on drums. This was the one and only song I performed lead vocals on for Random, the band I decided to cancel art school for right after high school and join the band and go on tour. Nearly had a record deal with RCA. Some of the best times of my life. Rest in Peace Tina St. Claire. I miss knowing you’re not still around in the world making the world a better place to live in thru your art and your infectious smile and beautiful spirit.

All riffs, licks, melodies, harmonies written on guitar and then rebuilt within Logic Pro using digital instrumentation just to see if I could and what that would sound like. I’m particularly proud of the saxophone line at the end with the sparkly shimmering particles floating around next to it. Basically the song was written as an experiment to help get me more familiar with tools in Logic Pro X including the Flex time/pitch used on my vocals.

Axe-FX3 riff

Once upon a time used to play guitar (and sometimes bass) as well as backing (and sometimes lead) vocals for a few bands; Random, Goodluck Saturday, Immortalicide, Gun Barrel City (which then became Astrea, which then became For the Old Fashioned), which itself was reformed years later under the same name (FTOF for short). On at least a couple occasions performing solo acoustic sets as Kevin Tuber. 

With that life long in the past and his complete apathy towards searching to fill band member roles for his own projects or having the time to dedicate outside of working at SpaceX to join a band, sometimes a new track will appear here or works in progress will pop up that give insight into his process if anybody is actually paying attention (they’re not but that’s ok). 

He doesn’t actually prefer this method of creating however and would much rather write collaboratively but with an absence of like-minded eager musicians to play with this is all ya get. Open to collaborations to write and release tracks.
