हवाई जहाज़ों में उड़ते फिरते हो
लंबी गाड़ियाँ चलाते हो
बड़ी बड़ी कंपनियाँ चलाकर,
दुनिया का मुक़द्दर बनाते हो
देश तो क्या विदेशों में भी...
अपने नाम से जाने जाते हो !!!
सब खुश हैं, सब आबाद हैं,
कुछ परिवारवाले… तो कुछ आज़ाद  हैं !!!......

कब लम्हे दिनों में, और दिन सालों में बदल जाते होंगे, 
अपनों के लिए तो क्या, अपने लिए भी पल ना निकल पाते होंगे,
वो छोटी सड़कें, वो कच्चे रास्ते, तो खैर अब कहाँ भाते होंगे…
ऐसे में मैं  सोचूँ क़ि मुझे याद कर लो , तो सदके पे पुराने नाते होंगे !!!

पर सच बतलाना,
क्या ऐसा कभी ना हुआ,
लगा क़ि कोई जाना पहचाना सा हवा का झोंका है छुआ, 
किसी बड़े होटल का लज़ीज़ खाना अचानक कड़वा लग गया,
क्योंकि एक 5 रुपये की रबड़ी का स्वाद, था मुँह में जग गया !!!
तुम मुझे भूले नही, मैं अब भी तुम में कहीं वाबस्ता हूँ, 
तुमसे तो कम,  पर हाँ, वक़्त के साथ मैं भी थोड़ा बदला हूँ!!!

आओ, मिल जाओ फिर से एक बार,
मैं तो वहीं हूँ, बैठा हूँ बाहें पसार……..
चलो एक दूसरे के नये रूप को जानें,
और एक पुराने रिश्ते को दें हम नये माने,

பசி

என்னை என் ஏளனமாய் பார்க்கிறாயடா?

காலையும், மாலையும், மத்தியில்

பத்து பதினோறு முறையும் உன்னால்

என்னை நினைக்காமலிருக்க முடியுமாடா?

முட்டாளே..!

என் நினைப்பு வந்து விட்டால்

உன் கனப்பு கூட விட்டுப்போகுமடா சமயத்தில்..

என்னை என் ஏளனமாய் பார்க்கிறாயடா?

போன புதன் கிழமை மூணே முக்கால் மணிக்கு

மண்டையைப் பிளக்கும் உச்சி வெயிலில்,

மஹாலட்சுமி அபார்ட்மெண்டிற்கும் பாக்யலட்சுமி அபார்ட்மெண்டிற்கும்,

இடையே உள்ள சகதி சந்திற்குள்

மூக்கை இறுக்கிப் பிடித்து மூத்திர வாடையை மறைத்து

முன்னூறு அடி முன்னாலே நகர்ந்து

உன்னைப் போலவர்கள் பலர்அடித்து துரத்தி ஆதரவின்றி

கொஞ்சம் கூட பொருட்படுத்தாமல்,

பொத பொதவென்று முழுங்கினாயே

எந்த வித கனப்புமின்றி,

வந்த விக்கலுக்குத் தண்ணி கூட குடிக்காமல்..

ஞாபகமிருக்கிறதாடா மடையா?

இன்னும் ஏன் என்னை ஏளனமாய் பார்க்கிறாயடா எளவு கெட்டவனே?

sheet the land

life anew
smell of earth
anklets tinkle 
and muddy feet 
arouse passions...
chillums smoke
rings that dissipate
the smoker thinks
thinker smokes
camels snort, spit
spittle tourists
gaze disparaging
at minoltas clicking
the oohing the aahing
high heels
and fair skin
versus smouldering dark eyes
battle won
the mirrors reflect
on life outside
the red-orange veil...
cows the sentinels
of nighttime bus-stand
asleep standing
circling drunken
reveling boys
tested and sure
or unsure
no matter
tonight alcohol
decimates minds
while watchers watch
and smoke, their thoughts
chaotic....
a refrain floats
on chill air
and musky breath
